For the very first episode of The Chris Gethard Show in its cable era, Gethard and company have Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer from Broad City, weird bodies, one of Chris’ favorite bands “The Front Bottoms”, live calls, live streaming, and more.

The premiere is on May 28th at 10PM on Fusion, but the show, if you can attend or want to livestream the very first taping, it happens on May 26th.

Here’s Chris to tell you more in detail at his lovely, lavish new studio.

Chris Gethard Attempting To Have TCGS Fans Carry Him To Work

As a symbolic representation of how Chris Gethard went from public access on MNN to cable on Fusion, Gethard will attempt on May 11th to have several fans carry him from his home in Greenpoint Brooklyn all the way to Midtown Manhattan, stretching almost 4 miles. We’re not sure, but this will probably inadvertently be some sort of world record.

Gethard explains in full detail here.

You can sign-up here if you’re in NYC, want to do this, and can physically lift Chris (possibly with the help of some friends), but do so fast as slots are filling up quick.

Classic bits from the MNN show will be played on Fusion next week.

While the premiere of the brand new Chris Gethard Show at Fusion isn’t until May, Fusion is going to start to air recut portions of episodes that put The Chris Gethard Show on the map in the first place.

Such things include Night of Zero Laughs and We Will Predict Your Future.

See what you potentially have been missing in one of the best public access shows of all time starting Thurs. Apr. 23rd at 8:30PM.

Fusion and Fuse Now Have Late Night Talk Shows Not Hosted by White Guys

April 16, 2015
Uncategorized
alicia menendez, come here & say that, fuse, fusion, white guy talk show

Even though the landscape of late night has had a vast changing of the guard recently, white men still make up the overwhelming majority of late night hosts.

However, the tide is changing as Larry Wilmore hosts The Nightly Show, Trevor Noah is set to replace Jon Stewart, Chelsea Handler is coming back with a show on Netflix next year, and Grace Helbig, though she goes on air in primetime, just premiered her own talk show.

Niche cable networks Fusion and Fuse are betting that things are going to keep changing and have just debuted their new late talk shows “Come Here & Say That with Alicia Menendez” and “White Guy Talk Show” respectively.

Now, you might not have heard of Alicia Menendez or the hosts of the ironically titled White Guy Talk Show, Saurin Choksi and Grace Parra. Menendez has a background in traditional news media and co-hosting a talk show is Choski and Parra’s first big TV gig.

So, even beyond choosing something outside of a white guy to host their late night talk show, both Fuse and Fusion made an even less traditional choice, (usually an established comedian that’s been on TV more than a few times) with their hosts, which will prove prudent or not in the coming weeks. That’s especially true since both shows are weeknights as opposed to weekly like Last Week Tonight.

Seeing how crowded late night has become (that includes parodies of late night like The Eric Andre Show and Comedy Bang! Bang!), we can only the uphill battle Come Here & Say That and White Guy Talk Show have in front of them. Carving out their niche and gaining a following is going to involve more than just offering a different perspective.

Like James Corden has done with The Late Late Show, they’ve got to make us want to tune in every night, or in the case of the Internet, whenever we want to kill time.

Of the ways to kick off Monday, seeing Lauren Lapkus review made up apps with a hot dog on Paul F. Tompkins’ puppet panel debate show No, You Shut Up! is definitely at the top of our list.

In fact, all apps reviews should involve an arbitrary rating system like kisses and have Lapkus or someone Lapkus-esque doing the review. In case you weren’t aware, there’s plenty more fun like this being had on No, You Shut Up! which you can watch in whole or in clips at their YouTube channel if you’re not watching it already on Fusion.

In case you have been too busy trying to catch up with all the hordes of television, movies, music, etc., No, You Shut Up! with Paul F. Tompkins is really hitting its stride in season 3 over at Fusion.

Just look at all the hijinks they get into with Keegan Michael-Key and Jordan Peele when they stop by and you can clearly see why this show should be the most Googled of 2015 instead of just 2nd in 2014.

Also, do remember that you can watch entire full episodes of this season as well as seasons one and two all conveniently on YouTube.

Chris Gethard Wants to Really Go All Out at Fusion and Says That “The Chris Gethard Show” Will Probably Debut in May

February 19, 2015
Uncategorized

In his latest communiqué, Chris Gethard has said that we will all have to look to May for the cable network TV premiere of The Chris Gethard Show.

On top of that, he has some ideas of what he wants to do with having a budget and the backing of a network behind them.

Chris made a list that includes these things and way more we hope all happens within the ten episodes that they have ordered:

– I want to have the entire audience serve as my personal trainer.
– I want our audience to raise an animal together.
– Currently having an object buried somewhere in North America. It is a very valuable object. The show – both the televised version and all of our online output (including this) have a series of clues that can lead you to the object. Whoever gets the object will realize that it is not just monetarily valuable, but will give them a role in our show they’ve never dreamed of. I will never mention this again.
– I’m currently doing a lot of research and surveillance on a lonely teen who lives in either Pennsylvania, Ohio, or Indiana. I list all three so you and s/he won’t know it’s them. I am learning everything about him/her and plan on giving them a triumphant moment during the ten-week run of our show. They will have no idea it is happening until it is happening.
– There are a lot of terrestrial radio frequencies in remote parts of America that do not broadcast. On one of them there is currently a looped ten minute message being sent out via pirating devices. The ten minute message gives you explicit instructions on ways you can win a trip to New York City to attend our show live. It is on you to find the location and frequency of the broadcast. I can tell you that it is within a three hour drive of a city with a population of over 150,000.

If Chris pulls all of this off, this would be literal groundbreaking television.

Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis Will Be Executive Producing “The Chris Gethard Show” at Fusion and Fusion Gets Broadcast Rights to Some Old TCGS Episodes

Despite how the last Will Ferrell-produced-Chris Gethard-starring show Big Lake went (cancelled after one season), Ferrell along with Zach Galifianakis will be executive producers on The Chris Gethard Show that’s coming to Fusion.

We do hope that means the wondrous chaos that is TCGS will get to reign on the half hour slot that Fusion has given them.

On top of 10 episodes that will air this year, perhaps starting in April, Fusion has picked up the rights to air 20 episodes from The Chris Gethard Show at MNN. We’d really be surprise if that doesn’t become some sort of marathon leading up to the show’s premiere.

The Chris Gethard Show Is Headed To Fusion

The mystery cable network that might have just won the comedy lottery for The Chris Gethard Show is Fusion.

Last year, Gethard announced that he and his show were going to a cable network, though he wouldn’t say which one.

Now, Fusion has brought him into their fold, which is getting more and more impressive comedy-wise. No, You Shut Up! with Paul F. Tompkins, a docu-comedy special from Al Madrigal, and now, The Chris Gethard Show.

Gethard details more on the move from MNN to Fusion at Splitsider.

No, You Shut Up! with Paul F. Tompkins Is Second Most Googled Show of 2014

Though No, You Shut Up! with Paul F. Tompkins is on a relatively new niche cable network, Fusion, people apparently googled the show more than True Detective and Orange Is The New Black according to a 2014 trend report compiled by Google itself.

No, You Shut Up! is only in its 3rd season and only Game of Thrones was searched more on Google more often. However, No, You Shut Up! unfortunately doesn’t get near the ratings that Game of Thrones does, but maybe that’s because more people have HBO or an HBOGO password than those that have Fusion.

Hopefully, all of that will change very soon because watching Tompkins, puppets, and guests in “heated” debate is pretty damn great.
