Little Hours Red Band Trailer Plays Like Spiritual Sequel to Monty Python and the Holy Grail

Little Hours is a raunchy, unfiltered comedy set in medieval times juxtaposing the sort of comedy that might star Alison Brie, Dave Franco, Aubrey Plaza, Kate Micucci, John C. Reilly, Molly Shannon, and Fred Armisen, but have nun, king, and peasant costumes.

That being the case of writer/director Jeff Baena’s latest work, you can see in the trailer how this could almost be the origin story of the “perilous” Castle Anthrax in Monty Python and The Holy Grail.

Also, we loved that the Catholic League calls it, “Pure trash,” and that pull quote is featured in this trailer.

So, look for Little Hours to hit theaters on June 30th.

In any case, the new season has a sketch with Run The Jewels on it, so you should be looking out for the season premiere on Thursday, January 5th at 10PM.

Old Navy Continues Its Streak of Great Comedian Spokespeople with Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein

First, it was Amy Poehler. Then, it was Julia Louis-Dreyfus. Then, it was Julia Louis-Dreyfus with Kumail Nanjiani and Snoop Dog.

Now, it’s Portlandia’s own Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein that are starring in the latest round of Old Navy ads.

Like all the folks before them, it seems like they crafted the ads themselves since they kind of play like sketches from Portlandia.

In fact, if you’re having some sort of Portlandia withdrawals, these ads might soothe you for just a bit before season 6 premieres on Jan. 21st.

Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein have said over and over in interviews that they know too much about each other to ever seriously date.

However, five seasons of their show, Portlandia, may have broken down enough barriers to at least make a technical go at coitus.

Just watch them go at it (?), then be sure to catch the season 6 premiere of Portlandia on Thurs. Jan. 21st at 10PM on IFC.

It seems fitting that the stars of Documentary Now! would get an award from The Smithsonian.

The Smithsonian Institution has their own eponymous magazine that annual gives out awards in several categories, many which line up with a corresponding Smithsonian museum in Washington D.C.

Both Fred Armisen and Bill Hader will be receiving the honor of the American Ingenuity Award for Documentary Now!, which is definitely one of the most innovative, high concept shows to come around in some time.

Hopefully, Armisen and Hader will attend and do some sort of Documentary Now! bit.

Lorne Michaels’ Broadway Video Launching “Mas Mejor” as Digital Studio Targeted at Latino Audiences

September 30, 2015

(via The Wrap)

It’s interesting how this news comes just as Sabado Gigante, a 53 year variety show, has just come to an end.

Many english language networks have attempted to tap into the ever growing latino population in the U.S. with bilingual and latino/hispanic focused programming. Success has unfortunately been sparse.

Yet, the thought of something catching on could be a boon in ratings/views to anyone who finds a show that works in the regard.

Along these lines, Broadway Video, Lorne Michaels’ umbrella entertainment brand for the multitude of shows he has on late night, primetime sitcoms like 30 Rock, and more, is creating a digital space that looks to capitalize on the Latino demographic as well as create more Broadway Video content that general audiences can watch.

Original bilingual web series, videos, etc. that will include the likes of Horatio Sanz and Fred Armisen will go officially launch in January of next year.

(via Uproxx/Oregon Live)

However, they’re open to other things outside of a series.

In a recent interview during the shooting of season 6, Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein revealed that the 8th season of Portlandia that IFC has ordered will be its last.

A movie, musical, or some sort of one off could be possible, but don’t fret about the exit of the show yet. Season 6 is in production and seasons 7 and 8 have yet to be even conceived of.

Still, we’re sure they’ll start thinking of some great collector box set that comes with plenty of birds to put wherever you want.
