SF Sketchfest, the first mighty comedy festival of every year, is really happening once more. The nearly three week comedy extravaganza that takes over all of SF already has a gigantic line-up, but has just announced more than a few additions that might just make you make the trek to San Francisco if you weren’t already planning to (or just going in general if you already live in the Bay Area).

Just added for 2023 SF Sketchfest are:

  • Fred Armisen Residency: Comedy for Bass Players but Everyone is Welcome
3 nights with a different guest bass player each night – special guests TBA
  • The Red Room Orchestra play the music of “Twin Peaks” & “Repo Man”
  • Dumb People Town with The Sklar Bros. and Daniel Van Kirk
  • James Adomian with Jes Tom
  • Ilana Glazer Presents: Alison Leiby: Oh God, A Show About Abortion
  • Mic Drop: A Night of Music, Rap and Comedy with Drennon Davis, EpicLLOYD, Eliza Skinner and more
  • Behind the Bastards with Robert Evans
  • The Setup with Abhay and Richard Sarvate

Again, this edition of the festival runs from 1/20-2/5 and, you’re thinking what we’re thinking, you’ll want to go snag tickets here.

It’s been a minute since the last time this happened and thus, this meeting of Dumb Pepole Town podcast live at Largo on Monday, Dec. 10th at 8:30PM might be the comedy event of the holiday season.

The Sklar Brothers, Daniel Van Kirk, and special guest Will Forte (pretty nice get, right?) will not only go over the crème de la crème of dumb stories from around the world, but will also get the stories shared live in person from townies in the crowd.

Tickets are still available at $35 a pop and you can (and very much should) treat yourself for the holidays by getting them here.

YouTube Has Just Ordered an Animated Presentation of the Dumb People Town Podcast

So much of the fun that’s had by The Sklar Brothers, Daniel Van Kirk, and their guests might be brought further to life if this goes to series at YouTube.

If there does end up being a Dumb People Town animated series, we can’t wait to see how the riffs and runs as well as Dumb People Town’s most popular game Guess the Agee will play out in animated form.

When it comes to making fun of local, odd news stories, few podcasts do quite as well as The Sklar Brothers, Daniel Van Kirk, and guests do on Dumb People Town.

38 episodes in, they’ve already got a loyal populous of Dumb People Townies to the point where listener Michael Trainor actually put together a map of all the locations where every single story on the show takes place.

That’s how fanatical their fanbase is. See the map in its entirety here (note how many bubbles are in Florida).

Oh, in case it hasn’t been made clear, listen and subscribe to Dumb People Town.

If You Loved Sklarbro County, You’ll Love ‘Dumb People Town’ on Feral Audio

Basically, Sklarbro County packed it up at Earwolf (note: Sklarbro Country is still proceeding as usual on Earwolf), changed its name to Dumb People Town, and moved to Feral Audio.

Jason Sklar, Randy Sklar, Daniel Van Kirk, and a guest all riff on stories on dumb people doing dumb things that make the news like they have for hundreds episode, but just under the new and more appropriate moniker, Dumb People Town.

Their first episode with guest Nick Thune is up at Feral Audio now and has, as you might have grown accustomed to, plenty of top shelf riffing.
