In the midst of all of the awards dedicated to entertainment on a screen, Entertainment Weekly has put forth their own EWwy Awards based on votes from their readers on what’s best on their TVs.

So, Parks and Recreation took Best Comedy Series, Best Actor [Adam Scott], Best Supporting Actor [Nick Offerman] while Drunk History took Best Variety Series. Of course, perennial award winner Modern Family had to sneak in a win as well with Best Guest Actress [Elizabeth Banks].

Drunk History Tries to Get Through the Story of Judge Waties Waring and Citizen Kane

Drunk History enlisted the drunk storytelling skills of Dave Ross and Steve Berg to tell the amazing stories of the anti-segregation Judge Waties Waring and how Citizen Kane was made, respectively.

The reenactments bleeding into the drunkenness of the storyteller along with Rich Fulcher as Waring and Jack Black as Orson Welles are priceless in these clips.

Comedy Central Renews Drunk History and Nathan For You

Both Drunk History and Nathan For You just got picked up for their third seasons at Comedy Central only after a few weeks into their second seasons.

On their night, we’ll still maintain that Drunk History, Nathan For You combined with The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, and “@midnight” is one of the most solid blocks of comedy on TV right now and will thankfully be that way in the future.

Comedy Central’s Drunk History finally returned this past Tues. filling the inebriated history lesson that we’ve been desperately missing for months. 

Two of their stories featured an inspiration for Rosa Parks and Joe Louis going against Max Schmeling of course told respectively by someone who doesn’t know how drunk they’re being on camera and someone else who wants to bring their dog into the story.

Drunk History Tells The Story of How The Statue of Liberty Came to America

Producer Eric Falconer was enlisted by Derek Waters and Drunk History to tell the story of how the U.S. almost turned away the Statue of Liberty as a gift from France and Frederic Bartholdi. 

Taran Killam plays Bartholdi, but more importantly, Falconer is drunk and playing with Play-doh while telling the story. Watch it here.

Tuesdays this Summer are going to be great on Comedy Central as you’ll get to watch Drunk History and Nathan For You in the same evening. Jun. 24th sees the season 2 premieres of Nathan For You and Drunk History as was announced yesterday.

So just go ahead and block off Tuesday nights this Summer for this.

Drunk History Season 2 Premiering This June

You’re favorite history show as told by people who are absolutely hammered, then carefully reenacted word-for-word, detail-for-detail by professional actors is finally coming back this Summer. 

Season 2 of Drunk History is set for 30 new stories colorfully told in almost accurate detail on June 24th on Comedy Central. How fitting of an announcement this is on St. Patrick’s Day.

@midnight with Chris Hardwick is returning next month, Review with Andy Daly is coming in Feb. (just check Daly’s personal reminder), Trip Tank is coming in April, and Nathan For You & Drunk History are returning in summer at Comedy Central.

Not only is it amazing that legendary magician/escape artist Harry Houdini was invited to a seance, then promised to expose spiritualists for hoaxes, but it’s pretty great that Ken Marino will play Houdini and Alfred Molina, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, the man who invites Houdini to the seance on an upcoming episode of Drunk History on Comedy Central tomorrow at 10PM.

Coupled with today’s news of John Oliver’s NY Stand Up Show coming back at the end of July, Drunk History the TV series finally making it to air on Tues. July 9th has made this quite the day for Comedy Central.
