Pick of the Day: Dan St. Germain Taping (in NYC) 6/1

As we’re in the thick of 2023, many a plans laid out for 2020 are now coming into fruition. That includes a bunch of folks’ solo shows that are Scotland-bound for the Edinburgh Fringe Festivals as well as plenty of tapings for specials and albums that had to be put on hold due to COVID-19.

NYC comedy’s Dan St. Germain had two delightful hours of comedy, “no real winners here” and “Bad at the Good Times”, out before the pandemic and 2020 seemed probably about a ripe time for a new one, perhaps an hour special. Well, we’ll just fast forward to here in 2023 because you’re well aware of what happened in the mean time. St. Germain’s seasoned, classical style stand-up with rollicking, punchline-filled commentary on the world around him is going to be captured in his first hour special next month at Old Man Hustle/BKLYN Comedy Club.

You’ve got two chances to catch St. Germain bring the heat on Thurs. Jun. 1st at 8PM or at the late show at 10PM. Tickets are $20 and you can (and should) go get them here.

Please Enjoy Dan St. Germain, Once Again, on Conan

Dan St. Germain’s measured execution, quick pacing and timing, etc. translate very well to late night sets. Thus, he does stand-up on television quite frequently and deservingly so.

With that in mind, enjoy his latest set on Conan here where, among other things, explains himself as a dumb liberal.

For those looking for any bit of positivity in the world these days, you might enjoy a competitive comedy show where all involved try to out-compliment each other.

Boast Rattle acts like an antithesis, even in name, to the phenomenon Roast Battle and definitely takes your mom’s advice of “if you have nothing nice to say, then don’t say it” to heart.

Also, regardless of the compliments that will be hurled at one another, the line-up is stellar as well.

Tickets are $10 and you can (and should) get them here.

The tales of Dan St. Germain are kind of perfect for Comedy Central’s storytelling series This Is Not Happening.

This particular story comes from a darker time in Dan’s life when he was a janitor and managed to go overboard on getting wasted at a jam band festival.

Watch it here.

Really, it’s almost inexplicable that Donald Trump keeps winning in the primary election.

Well, that is the case until you watch Andy Haynes present all the other sorts of non-sensical and despicable people that comprise all the segments of Trump’s fanbase.

Watch and understand who wants Trump’s version of making America great again.

Last year, Dan St. Germain did stand-up on Conan for the first time without a shirt and tie and it was pretty great.

For this second appearance on Conan, Dan donned an entire suit and absolutely made sure to comment how it doesn’t necessarily fit his particular brand joie de vivre and it went even better.

Watch his set here.

Dan St. Germain to Star in/Write/Produce Comedy at Fox

Dan St. Germain is getting set to star in a comedy at Fox that he will get to write and co-executive produce, which is definitely another great move by Fox.

Also, Dan will be playing a guy dealing with a break up, so we cannot wait to see a lot of Dan’s stand up work it’s way into a sitcom.

We’re not kidding when we say that comedy history is being made at Nerdmelt (the theater in the back room of Meltdown Comics) as so many great comedy albums are being recorded between their walls. Dan St. Germain ,who you hopefully just saw a great set from on Conan, is the latest in line of the likes of Dave Anthony, Sean Patton, Morgan Murphy, Mike Lawrence, John Roy, and more to record their latest works there.

Don’t miss out on Germain laying down his debut album “Bad at the Good Times” for AST Records on Fri. Sept. 13th at either 7:30PM or 9PM.

Hopefully, all of this gets picked up and put on screens soon.

Oh yeah, his episode of Comedy Central’s The Half Hour is this Fri. May 17th at 12AM.
