The Minority Report With Larry Wilmore To Replace The Colbert Report in Jan. 2015

All your bated breaths can now be let go. A Daily Show correspondent will indeed replace Stephen Colbert when he leaves for The Late Show to replace David Letterman starting in Jan. 2015 (coupled with Ferguson’s exit at the end of this year, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert should start around the same time).

Senior Black Correspondent Larry Wilmore, who’s credits run also include The Office and a Showtime special, will host The Minority Report with Larry Wilmore following The Daily Show and we challenge the Internet to be upset with this choice.

Stephen Colbert to Replace David Letterman

Well, CBS isn’t waiting around to see what other choices might surface next year to replace Letterman. They’re putting their money on Stephen Colbert and it’s probably their best bet to compete with The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon as well as draw a brand new young audience that Colbert has at his command.

This makes us curious to how Colbert will potentially leave his Colbert Report character at Comedy Central.

We don’t even want to get into the rhetoric of denouncing those looking to be outraged, specifically those who started the #CancelColbert hashtag.

Just watch parts one and two of Stephen Colbert’s response on the Colbert Report that clears his name, even though he really didn’t have to do so.

Though perhaps lacking in the physical attributes of a NFL quarterback destined for The Super Bowl, one Stephen Colbert is certainly legendary at making a remote segment out of trying to become one.

The Truth Behind Daft Punk’s Cancelled Appearance on The Colbert Report

It wasn’t a ruse that Stephen Colbert had cleverly planned and kept on the down low when Daft Punk cancelled last minute on appearing on The Colbert Report.

If anything, you’ll somehow have an even deeper appreciation what Colbert and his writing staff attempted to go through to get the duo, helmets and costumes all, on screen with their bizarre diva like requests.

Stephen Colbert Addressing Tragedy at Boston Marathon Is Pretty Much Perfect

Whenever tragedy strikes, it’s a confounding position for all of comedy whether to address it or not and, if so addressing it, how to go about it. Many off-color, disgusting jokes are made, but it’s all out of this need to cope, to relate, a need for levity.

Fortunately, there are comedians like Stephen Colbert who know how to just comedically address such a thing as the tragedy at the Boston Marathon.

Watch him do so on the opening of last night’s Colbert Report.
