The Cherry Lane Theatre has become the go-to off-Broadway theater for stand-up comedians transitioning into solo shows on a bigger stage. Colin Quinn, Mike Birbiglia, Hasan Minhaj, and, most recently, Alex Edelman have all had great runs with their respective solo shows that had humble beginnings at various stages in and around NYC.

Now, Alison Leiby will join be the latest addition to the pantheon of comedians to play The Cherry Lane Theatre as her critically acclaimed Oh God, An Hour About Abortion that has made the rounds at Caveat, Union Hall, etc. is now going to be Ilana Glazer Presents Oh God, a Show About Abortion with veteran theater director Lila Neugebauer on board. The show itself is very likely one of the more timely solo shows out there at the moment, considering the rise in anti-abortion legislation in the U.S. over the last few years.

Leiby’s run will go from Mon. Apr. 25th-Sat. Jun. 4th @ 7PM ET with a 3PM ET Saturday matinee, except for May 5th and 30th. Also, a single Sunday performance of Oh God, a Show About Abortion will happen on May 29th @ 7PM ET.

Tickets starts at $37 and highly suggest you snag them right now at ohgodshow.com.

Pick of the Day: Neal Brennan-Unacceptable (in NYC) Starting 8/25

Neal Brennan put out his best work to date with his last special Three Mics in 2017. 2017 seems like eons ago, most likely because eons worth of stuff has happened since then. Still, it was one of the best specials that year and a very welcome break for the one mic style stand-up special.

So, Brennan seems like he’s venturing out on another reimagining of the form, though we’re not quite sure what it will be, as he has tapped magician Derek Delgaudio, from the hit magic/solo show special In and Of Itself, to direct this latest hour, which will be titled, Unacceptable. In and of Itself was such a departure from the typical magic show that one has to ponder what both Derek and Neal have up their sleeves.

Brennan is just about to embark on a limited run of Unacceptable at the Cherry Lane Theatre in NYC starting Aug. 25th and going through the beginning of October. Tickets start at $40 and you ought to get your tickets real quick before they all sell out.

John Mulaney and Nick Kroll are keeping some of The Kroll Show’s most enduring characters, George St. Geegland and Gil Faizon, going, which is really a pretty great gift to us all.

Not only do they have an acclaimed off-Broadway show “Oh Hello” running at The Cherry Lane Theatre, but they made probably one of the most memorable late night appearances this year.

Fully in costume and character, St. Geegland and Faizon chatted with Seth Meyers on Late Night and Meyers could barely keep a straight face through the whole conversation.

For those of us unable to see Oh, Hello, for now, this is the next best thing.
