There Will Be an Open Casting Call for Will Arnett’s Revival of The Gong Show This Weekend

On February 11th at The Glendale Galleria, you have the chance to show up and try out for the renowned bizarro variety show known as The Gong Show that is getting brought back by Will Arnett. 

The auditions will run from 10AM-9PM, but you do have to fill out an application and RSVP. Get that done and more details here.

If you’ve been further wondering what Baron Vaughn as Tom Servo and Hampton Yount as Crow T. Robot might sound like when in action for the new Mystery Science Theater 3000, look no further than their “leaked auditions” for Star Wars: The Force Awakens on Funny or Die.

As we suspected, they look like they’re going to do just fine.

It’s unmistakable when you hearing the opening and closing theme of Saturday Night Live and immediately upon hearing it, you harken to the legendary sketch show. However, you hardly think of the band playing that theme and what they go through. 

Flavorwire gives us a “real” inside look into that world, specifically when it comes to casting a bass player for SNL. Also, give a round of applause to Aimee Mann, Andy Kindler, and DC Pierson for this wonderful bit of “behind-the-scenes”.

Not many other people outside of Tom Scharpling knew this, but there were extensive auditions for the band known as The Postal Service. Luckily, now there has been a tape released by Funny or Die revealing the likes of many already successful musicians and hilarious working comedians trying out for a new band managed by a guy who resembles the hilarious Jon Daly. 

Watch this now please and somebody give Tom Scharpling a sketch show already.

Another round of these showcases to see who gets to strut their comedy chops in the prestigious Just for Laughs Montreal Comedy Festival.  The Comedy Bureau highly recommends catching one of these as all the comedians are (supposed to be) putting their best foot forward.

All taking place at the revitalized Hollywood Improv Lab (8165 Melrose Ave., Hollywood, CA) for $5 check out one or all of the shows below.
