AST Records is set for a big week of comedy album releases and we’re definitely excited for this first one from one of our favorites, Andy Peters.
His very first album “Exclamation Mark Question Point” just came out today and we highly recommend picking it up if you’re a fan of fun at all, which should be all of you.
Dan Telfer has two albums under his belt, though one of them is more of an EP, and is on his way to his third on AST Records’ label.
Join him as well as the comedic stylings of Maria Bamford, Emily Heller, and Ricky Carmona for this second full-length journey to the far reaches of Dan’s comedic universe to be recorded live at Nerdmelt Sat. Nov. 15th at 9PM.
Admission is free in case you needed more convincing, though you shouldn’t need any such thing.
As they’re already set to help record some vinyl comedy albums for Jonah Ray’s Literally Figurative Records, AST Records will record some of their own.
They’re starting with a 7-inch with Dave Ross at The Deer Pile in Denver, CO on Nov. 19th.

Andy Peters has been, for a long time, one of our favorite comedians to watch around LA and we’re so thrilled that you’ll all get a chance to soon to experience the same fast and loose wonder that we’ve got to enjoy time and time again on Peters’ debut album “!?” (note that it does not read interrobang, but rather “Exclamation Mark Question Point”).
!? is on pre-order from AST Records now and comes out Nov. 11th and we highly recommend grabbing it and listening to it repeatedly.
One of the albums we’ve been most excited to come out for this year is Andrés du Bouchet’s 20-Sided Guy from AST Records, a collection of various performances of du Bouchet’s wonderfully bizarre characters.
We’re happy to tell you that it’s now on pre-order on vinyl (that comes with a digital download) ahead of its Nov. 25th release.
If you were to pre-order a comedy album right now, this is the one we’d have you pre-order. We hope that was clear from everything else we said above.
Earlier this year, Paul Danke recorded an album that would be in a line of great releases from AST Records this year. The time is now coming near for that debut album of Danke’s to come out.
More specifically, Nov. 11th is when you can get a copy and take a listen. We don’t have any details on a title or cover art, but we’re sure, with the focus on Danke, it’s going to be as casual cool as casual cool can be.
There won’t be a flurry of comedy albums/books/etc. coming out this week to snatch up like there was 7 days ago, but that doesn’t mean you should skip out at all on getting Jared Logan’s album My Brave Battle.
It’s Logan’s very first album and out from the good folks at AST Records and you can get a taste of it here. After that, do pick it up on iTunes or get an actual CD.
AST Records is set for another roll of awesome releases in the coming weeks and they’re starting off with none other than Jared Logan, who is still raising money to have Hillary Clinton come to his D&D club, and his very first comedy album My Brave Battle.
Out on Oct. 14th, be sure to give a listen what type of comedian results from an ultra religious upbringing in the middle of West Virginia (hint: a pretty great one).

Announced today, Literally Figurative Records will be an imprint label from Jonah Ray and AST Records. There will be comedy and music and a bit of both together handpicked by Jonah himself.
So far, coming up there will be a whole bunch of 7" albums from that feature both comedians and bands like Sean O’Connor/Upset, Powerviolence, Rhea Butcher/G.S. Schray, Alex Hooper/FARTBARF as well as a debut 7" album from Paige Weldon, a vinyl rerelease of Nick Youssef’s Stop Not Owning This, and an entire LP from Matt Dwyer.
Just to be clear, this is all pretty awesome and we can’t wait to hear all of these records as soon as possible.
For those of you wondering what’s going on with Bob Odenkirk’s upcoming album, mark down Nov. 25th as the release date of Amateur Hour from Bob Odenkirk featuring Brandon Wardell off of AST Records.
There will be a bonus track as an added incentive to all, but especially to those handful of people that got to go to the taping at Meltdown.

Arguably the audio equivalent of YouTube, Soundcloud has established itself as one of the top services in their niche. They’re now going to implement ads and a potential subscription service with a handful of partners in order for those partners to generate their own revenue with their content.
So far, ads from Comedy Central could play on audio content from Earwolf, AST Records, Funny or Die, or JASH. If this direction continues, this could be a new avenue for podcasts or comedy albums looking to monetize themselves.
The prolifically funny Dave Hill has somehow not blessed us all by recording a live comedy album for all of us that need a piece from Dave preserved forever in time.
Luckily, that’s changing next month, Sept. 3rd, at Union Hall when Dave records his very first comedy album off the consistently awesome label AST Records. The show itself is already sold out, but it would be most certainly worth trying to stand by for tickets.
AST Records’ latest release comes from NYC based Nate Fridson who we got to see kill at Hot Tub this week with his very keenly observed observations.
Make this a comedy album buying week by getting Fridson’s Best Guy So Far and Dave Waite’s Hotdoggin’.
Earlier this year, we reported that one of favorite comedians Andrés du Bouchet would be not only releasing his 2nd album, but that album would be a 2 hour long compilation album of different bits and characters performed at several different places.
Well, now, Nov. 25th is when 20 Sided Guy will come out from AST Records and mark that date down on your calendar for when you will buy the album, laugh heartily and simultaneously have your mind blown.
Following up his first album Unbearable, the hysterical Hampton Yount is recording his next album cleverly called Bearable for A Special Thing Records.
Mark down Aug. 15th for 9PM at Nerdmelt Showroom for this taping that will be free to attend. Really mark it down. You don’t want to miss Hampton doing an hour.
If you were lucky enough to actually get to go Bob Odenkirk’s album taping for AST Records months ago, you might have noticed Brandon Wardell opening the show, which is pretty standard for a comedy album taping.
However, having the opener also on your album is sort of unprecedented. Leave it to Odenkirk to keep us all guessing, but we’re happy to hear that not only will Wardell be on the album Amateur Hour, but he will be going on tour with Odenkirk in October.

Guy Branum Recording Debut Album for AST Records
We say this a lot, but AST Records keeps the cavalcade of amazing comedians recording albums coming. At the very end of this month, AST has the amazing Guy Branum recording his very first comedy album at the at the always awesome Nerdmelt Showroom.
It’s free to attend, so mark this down for Thurs. July 31st, 7PM as what you will be doing, hopefully.
AST Records Releases New Albums From Dan St. Germain, Sean O’Connor & Max Silvestri
A Special Thing Records is having quite the day today as they’re dropping three releases from three great comedians.
Dan St. Germain’s Bad at the Good Times, Sean O’Connor’s James Dean Type, and Max Silvestri’s King Piglet are all coming from AST’s record label and we highly suggest that you pick them all up (comedy does come in threes, right?), take the rest of the day off, and enjoy hours of comedy album goodness.
Jared Logan Recording Comedy Album Tonight in Nashville, TN
Tonight, the wonderful AST Records is laying down another comedy album, this time from the very funny Jared Logan. If you can make it to the High Watt in Nashville, TN tonight, do not miss out.
Dan St. Germain’s Bad at The Good Times To Be Released in June
Dan St. Germain debut comedy album finally has a release date. Coming off AST Records, Dan’s Bad at The Good Times comes out on Tues. Jun. 10th.
This is only one of many great releases coming from AST in the coming months, like so many they’ve done in the past, so get ready to stack your comedy album queue up soon.
Max Silvestri’s Debut Comedy Album “King Piglet” Coming Out in June
More good AST Records news keeps coming our way as they just wrapped the taping of Paul Danke’s debut comedy album this weekend and have just now announced that they’ll be releasing the very funny Max Silvestri’s debut comedy album.
Silvestri’s King Piglet is set for release on June 10th and suggest you get yourself a copy then.
Paul Danke Recording Album for AST Records
Fri. Apr. 25th will be the night that the very funny Paul Danke lays down his sweet words to a record, a digital one that is. This comedy album will come from one of the best comedy album labels around AST Records.
Thus, we’d highly recommend both going to the taping at Nerdmelt LA on Apr. 25th (it’s free, by the way) and then picking up the album when it comes, hopefully some time later this year.
Cameron Esposito Recording Debut Comedy Album for AST Records
As far as we’re concerned, it’s definitely time for a comedy album from the fantastic Cameron Esposito. Thank goodness the universe/ether/whatever has listened to our wish and AST Records is recording her debut comedy album at The Laughing Skull in Atlanta, GA next week.
So, if you’re in or around or can get to Atlanta next weekend, go to the album recording.
Liam McEneaney, very funny comedian and force behind Tell Your Friends, just released his debut comedy album from AST Records, Comedian.
Maybe pick it up and give it a listen while you’re supposedly not having anything to watch tonight?
A Special Things Records comes out with another awesome release in Jimmy Pardo’s Sprezzatura. A king of crowd work and riffing and the reference you’ll bust up laughing at when you get home and Google it, Pardo showcases all of that during one night at Go Bananas Comedy Club in Cincinnati.
Pick it up on CD or Digital Download and also, get a kick out of the name of this album, which, if we might say, Googled, laughed, and think is perfect for Pardo.
