TruTV’s foray into scripted sitcoms has proven fruitful and deservingly so thus far.

Those Who Can’t is humming along to its third season and, just announced yesterday afternoon, Andrea Savage’s I’m Sorry picked up a second season after a positive reception both critically and commercially.

The second season is slated for 2018. If you add Bobcat Goldthwait’s upcoming anthology series, TruTV could be looking at a very, very solid line-up of scripted comedy series on their programming line-up.

Tonight, It’s All About Sitcoms Centered on Family Women as “I’m Sorry” Has Its Series Premiere and “Odd Mom Out” Has Its Season 3 Premiere

We’re sure that TruTV and Bravo did not plan months ago to have their respective series I’m Sorry and Odd Mom Out go head-to-head on basic cable on the same night at the same time slot, but that’s the way things turned out.

Honestly, you should try to catch both as Andrea Savage looks like she’s going to make a very solid and confident debut with a sitcom based on her life, I’m Sorry (see for yourself in this clip) and Odd Mom Out, as you can see here, has sneakily charmed its way to a third season on Bravo.

So, DVR, stream them somewhere later, or have two different TVs running both shows at the same at 10PM tonight on TruTV and Bravo.

Andrea Savage’s “I’m Sorry” Trailer Promises Latest Sitcom Based on a Life in Comedy That You Should Watch

Louie, Better Things, Master of None, Lopez, I’m Dying Up Here, and Dice are just a few sitcoms in recent memory that follow the lives and times of various real people (or reasonable facsimiles of real people) in and around comedy.

Andrea Savage’s I’m Sorry coming to TruTV on July 12th at 10PM will be the latest to join that subgenre and, from the trailer, it looks like it’ll be able to hold its own.

See for yourself here.

TruTV Greenlights 3rd Original Scripted Series “I’m Sorry” from Andrea Savage

Do you even remember that TruTV used to deal in reality TV exclusively? Given how well their rebrand has gone, we’re guessing probably not.

TruTV’s progress as a comedy channel seemingly continues to go well as they have ordered a new sitcom from Andrea Savage (Episodes, Hotwives) that follows her actual life. It’s called I’m Sorry and slated for a 2017 premiere and has the likes of Will Ferrell and Adam McKay, as well as Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone, and Akiva Schaffer all as EPs in addition to Savage.

With Better Things, looks like female led sitcoms on cable based on the lives of real comedic actresses might become a trend.

Last week, we reported the good news that Hotwives of Orlando was getting a second season over at Hulu. At the time, we were under the impression that there was going to be a whole new cast, but, Casey Wilson, who plays one of the central Hotwives, revealed on Late Night with Seth Meyers this week that the cast is returning and only their characters will be different for Hotwives of Las Vegas.

So, that means the fantastic cast of Casey, Danielle Schneider, Kristen Schaal, Tymberlee Hill, Andrea Savage, and Angela Kinsey are all returning.

We’ll be looking forward to “no drama” very soon.

Andrea Savage Joins Showtime’s “Episodes” For Next Season

We hope that you been watching Hotwives of Orlando and been gleefully enjoying Andrea Savage as Veronica Von Vandervon as much as we have.

With that in mind, we also hope you’ll now be excited for Savage joining the cast for a role opposite Matt LeBlanc for the entire next season of the award winning Episodes on Showtime.

We’re now curious to see if she’ll keep the same great, overly posh accent she has on Hotwives given the presence of British writers on Episodes.
