That’s four, count ‘em, four chances you’ve got coming up to see the one and only Maria Bamford work out a new hour of stand-up at the intimate, DIY space of The Clubhouse in Los Feliz (located right next to the Jons in a gigantic strip mall).
This week and next week, you should really try and find a way to get to The Clubhouse at 2PM for one of these shows to see one of the funniest and best human beings do what they do best.
In case you haven’t noticed in LA, there has been a lot of comics doing more extended sets for various submissions to networks or streaming services (or maybe just do an extended set because stage time is a precious commodity out here). That means a lot of our favorite comics in LA that don’t normally get to do a half hour or more are also doing a half-hour or even a hour coming up.

One Jason Van Glass will be attempting to do 10+ hours of improv at The Clubhouse this coming Wednesday.
That might be breaking some kind of record. Even if it’s not, it’s an impressive feat to take on and he’s doing it for a great cause (collecting donations for the Southern Poverty Law Center) AND will have a great line-up of fellow improvisers joining him throughout throughout the whole run.

Raising funds for The LA Indie Improv Festival, some of the best improvisors in town will be going head-to-head in a 2016 Drug Cagematch (i.e. team booze vs. team weed vs. team molly vs. team shrooms).
$5 donation will get you into the show this Saturday, November 5th at 8PM at The Clubhouse.

The amazing Jackie Kashian is prepping for her next album and will thusly be running said album everyday from Tuesday, August 30th to Friday, September 2nd at The Clubhouse, 1607 N. Vermont, Los Angeles, CA (Next to Jons) at 4PM.

Brand New Ball’s run starts this Saturday, August 13th. As with almost all of shows at The Clubhouse, admission is free, but donations are encouraged to support the venue.
The amazing Maria Bamford is running her new hour at The Clubhouse Monday through Friday this week at 4PM.
The Clubhouse is in Los Feliz at 1607 N. Vermont Ave., Los Angeles, CA in a big strip mall next to Jons, which means there is plenty of free parking. Tickets are $5 at the door and we highly suggest that you don’t miss out on it even if you have to cut out of work early.

For a while, 1107-A El Centro Ave. #110 was the spot for independent improv, sketch, and variety that really let its shows and performers spread their wings as they pleased. That spot was aptly called The Clubhouse, which has now upgraded, thanks to Kickstarter, to a better, safer location at 1607 N. Vermont Ave. with lots of free parking (a premium here in LA, especially in their new neighborhood of Los Feliz).
As you can see from these pictures, the new space has undergone a lot of work and still has a bit more construction to do, but the Fresh Fish Variety Hour is scheduled for a show this Sat. at this new location.
