Todd Phillips’ “War Dogs Goes for a ‘Wolf of Wall Street’ of Arms Dealing in First Trailer

With the Hangover franchise presumably in the rear view mirror, writer/director Todd Phillips has lately been working on a much more intriguing project, War Dogs.

Based on the true story (written in an Rolling Stone by Guy Lawson) article of the young, enterprising American gun runners David Packouz and Efraim Diveroli, it looks like Jonah Hill gets to live up his character in the Wolf of Wall Street (replace stocks with guns) and team up with Miles Teller in what seems like one of the many batshit crazy stories to come out of Afghanistan.

Watch the trailer here, then look for War Dogs in theaters August 19th.

1) Nick Kroll on Conan.

2) EW made a list of top comedy podcasts following the footsteps of Rolling Stone. This will be probably the first time I’ve said this in ten years, but Rolling Stone made the better, more informed list.

3) The Ogre Mage EP will be out soon: “@zachlunch Listening to the new @OgreMage EP over and over. Soon, my children. Soon. #OgreMage”

4) Top 5 Reggie Watts Performances [via Serial Optimist]

5) A Drink with Dave and hilarious comedienne Amy Dresner.

6) Sean Patton just got the Tip of the Hat from us.

7) Ne’er a debate about who knows more about Catholicism will be more entertaining than this one between Stephen Colbert and Jack White.

1) Rolling Stone’s got a pretty good podcast list.  With The Pod F. Tompkast, WTF! w/Marc Maron, The Nerdist, The Smartest Man in the World w/Greg Proops, Comedy Death Ray Radio, and more that we all should probably listen to, Rolling Stone almost makes up for the garbage “Top 100 Guitarists of All Time” list they put out every year.

2) Jay Larson’s CD taping is TONIGHT at 8PM and you can still bypass the general cover fee with promo code: LARSON.  Along with performances from Pete Holmes, Melissa Villasenor, and Al Jackson, don’t miss a chance to laugh until your head will almost fall off and a chance for your laugh to be recorded forever.

3) Besides already knowing who won the upcoming Comedy Awards airing Sun. Apr. 10th, find out more with interviews from Tony Sam and Kate Riley at HahaJK.com-Red Carpet–Chloe Moretz–sketch duo briTANick.
