Pick of the Day: Looking Forward to It with Josh Gondelman (in Support of Fair Fight) 5/10

May 6, 2021
News
alison leiby, dan fox, david wain, fair fight, josh gondelman, khalid rahmaan, looking forward to it, nowhere comedy club, sara schaefer, voting rights

So, state by state, it seems as though new restrictive voting laws are being put in place and enacting how little the voting body of this country is and who gets to be part of it (Florida is the latest perpetrator, FYI). Don’t be mistaken; it’s turning back the clock of history and moving forward as a society.

With that in mind, one should always be in attendance and support the marvelous comedy show Looking Forward to It with Josh Gondelman as it is a show dedicated to both continuing the fight for voter engagement and representation in the very crucial years to come and give you a top shelf night of comedy. This month, one of the most effervescent comedians around, Josh Gondelman, will assemble the brilliance of David Wain, Sara Schaefer, Khalid Rahmaan, Alison Leiby, and Dan Fox and raising money for the amazing efforts of Stacey Abrams’ Fair Fight.

Get in on the fun and the fight with your tickets (starting at a $20 suggested donation) here. This edition of Looking Forward to It with Josh Gondelman goes live on Mon. May 10th at 5PM PT/8PM ET, presented by Nowhere Comedy Club on Zoom.

Pick of the Day: Gilbert Gottfried Does Set List Live! 4/23

April 20, 2021
News
carmen morales, gilbert gottfried, improvised stand up, nowhere comedy club, set list

Before lockdown, when international comedy was able to be done in person, there was a phenomenon known as Set List that challenged comedians ’round the world to improvise stand-up based off of absurd, never-before-seen topics as if it was a part of their long-standing, best-selling act. It had played almost every single comedy festival in existence and had been a TV show in both the UK and Australia.

Of course, in person comedy has taken a “sabbatical” due to the pandemic, but the virtual space has provided for plenty of new avenues and innovation and transition in comedy. Set List, given it’s reach and the fact that both comedians and audience discover a never-before-seen topic together makes it kind of a dream for virtual comedy, which is why we’re thankful to see the iconic Gilbert Gottfried do a whole Set List show (with Carmen Morales opening) this Friday at 5:30PM PT/8:30PM ET via Nowhere Comedy Club.

Gottfried speaking on completely random topics, after all of what the world has been through, really ought to be one of the more thrilling comedy experiences throughout the entirety of this virtual era of live comedy.

Tickets start at $10 and you can (and very much should) get them here.

Pick of the Day: James Adomian Live! 5/7

April 12, 2021
News

We miss so much that went away from just over a year ago. That’s especially true when it comes to a good majority of comedians that took the last year as a hiatus/a nap/a break/a period of renewal/soul searching. One comedian we very much miss seeing regularly is the comedic force that is James Adomian.

Adomian’s mastery of voices/characters coupled with his sharp, whipsmart, pointed world view always had us busting up in stitches whether it’s as Bernie Sanders or even his latest appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! as My Pillow CEO Mike Lindell.

Fortunately, Adomian will be doing a virtual headlining gig at Nowhere Comedy Club on Fri. May 7th at 6PM PT/9PM ET and it’ll be quite the opportunity for any and all to see James’ take the (virtual) stage once more .

Tickets start from $10 and you can (and very, very much should) go get them here.

Pick of the Day: Eddie Pepitone 3/24

March 11, 2021
News
eddie pepitone, nowhere comedy club, stand up

It’s quite unfortunate that the world has not really gotten to see Eddie Pepitone headline following The NY Times naming his latest special, For The Masses, as the Funniest Comedy Special of 2020. While the chance to see Pepitone headline a packed venue in person might be still relatively far off (and you can only see him on a regular basis during Live from the Bunker IG Live-streams), you’ll have a chance coming up to see Eddie do an extended virtual set.

On Wed. Mar. 24th at 5PM PT/8PM ET, Pepitone will bring his signature satirical rants and subversive meta commentary (online) at Nowhere Comedy Club. Eddie is one of the few comedians who’s energy can reach through the void of the Internet to still come through hilariously to whatever screen we’d be watching it on.

Tickets for this latest exclusive Pepitone performance are $10 (and $30 for a VIP meet-and-greet). You best go snag them up here.

Pick of the Day: Mike Birbiglia’s Worldwide Comedy Pizza Party 3/24-3/27

March 1, 2021
News
mike birbiglia, nowhere comedy club, pizza, stand up comedy

Without even a shadow of a doubt, both Mike Birbiglia and pizza have thrived during the pandemic. Birbiglia has managed to configure a way to do his beloved brand of stand-up and storytelling as well as raising so much money for worthy causes/waitstaff for comedy clubs across the U.S. and getting some pizza has been one of the perfect options for joyful sustenance while having to stay at home because of COVID-19.

So, the wonderful twain shall meet on Mar. 24th-Mar. 27th as Birbiglia’s latest runs of shows will indeed be stand-up comedy and stories about, you guessed it, pizza. Called Mike Birbiglia’s Worldwide Comedy Pizza Party, it’ll be streaming from Nowhere Comedy Club and tickets are $25.

You best get them quick as they’re selling out quick. Snag them up here and then spend the rest of the month thinking of the perfect pizza wherever you are to pair with this evening.

#Pick of the Day: Mike Birbiglia: Working It Out LIVE 12/28 & 12/31

December 22, 2020
News
dynasty typewriter, jokes, mike birbiglia, nowhere comedy club, working it out

Mike Birbiglia has stood out during this trailblazing era of live-stream/virtual comedy. Not only has he come up with a very successful way to present his comedic stylings and develop new material at the same time, but he has raised so much money for comedy venues across the country via TipYourWaitstaff.

Thus, Birbiglia’s headlining virtual performances sell out pretty quick and has thusly had to up his bookings. A few nights of his latest run of Working It Out are already sold out, but there are tickets available for 12/28 (which will be a benefit for Dynasty Typewriter to boot) and the afternoon of NYE at 1:30PM PT/3:30PM ET & 3:30PM PT/6:30PM ET (it’ll be New Year’s in the UK for the late show, FYI).

Tickets are still going for $25 and you can and best go get them at NowhereComedyClub.com.

The Sklar Brothers and Daniel Van Kirk are returning to the Nowhere Comedy Club for another virtually live edition of Dumb People Town. The beloved podcast has kept going throughout quarantine covering the troubling rise of the denizens that are the namesake of the show.

Of course, every live edition of the podcast is special as there is beginning invocation of the patron saint of Dumb People Town, Jan Flato and very special guests, which, this time around, will be none other than the quintessential American Dad of Comedy, Jim Gaffigan.

This latest edition of Dumb People Town is set for Sat. Aug. 15th at 6:30PM PT/9:30PM ET. Tickets are going for $20-$40 and you can and should go get them here.

Pick of the Day: The Daily Show Writers Standup Tour 8/12

July 28, 2020
News
Devin Delliquanti, joseph opio, kat radley, livestream comedy, nowhere comedy club, Randall Otis, stand up comedy, the daily show

From the get go of lockdown, The Daily Show with Trevor Noah has been on the ball with doing their show remotely and very quickly figuring out how to translate their format to work in such a fashion. Undoubtedly, the writers of The Daily Show have a lot to do with that.

Thus, an entire show featuring stand-up from said Daily Show writers would be worth catching. Lucky for you, they are doing such a show next month as part of a virtual edition of The Daily Show Writers Standup Tour. Via live-stream, the critically acclaimed writing team of Kat Radley, Randall Otis, Devin Delliquanti, and Joseph Opio will be performing an exclusive night of stand-up comedy (presented by Nowhere Comedy Club).

This Daily Show Writers Standup Tour is set for Wed. Aug. 12th at 6PM PT/9PM ET and tickets are only $10. Go get them here before they sell out.

Pick of the Day: Daniel Van Kirk at Nowhere Comedy Club 7/16

July 15, 2020
News
daniel van kirk, nowhere comedy club, stand up

In these times, you probably know and enjoy Daniel Van Kirk from the splendid trio of podcasts Pen Pals, Dumb People Town, and The Good Night Show. Before the world closed up, especially when it came to live comedy, seeing Daniel’s stand-up in person was something special, mischievous, and deeply genuine. His album Thanks Diane is still one of our favorites in recent memory. So, if you got a chance to see Daniel do stand-up again, you should take it.

Daniel just happens to be headlining the popular virtual comedy club, The Nowhere Comedy Club, this Thurs. Jul. 16th at 6PM PT. Tickets are almost entirely sold out, but you can snag one for $10 if you’re quick enough right here.
