One can easily be lulled into the magical illusion of Marcel the Shell with Shoes actually having that fragile voice that he has, but you should know it’s actually the voice of Jenny Slate.

If you’re looking for proof, then look no further then Jenny’s appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman last night where she sang as Marcel.

Then, once you’re overtaken with how adorable this is, you’ll want to pick up the new book due out next week, Marcel The Shell, The Most Surprised I’ve Ever Been.

Every time Bill Murray comes on to The Late Show with David Letterman, it’s a pretty magical time.

Whether he’s merely telling true stories or thinking up of who should be in the female reboot of The Ghostbusters or “training for a marathon” or getting back from George Clooney’s wedding, Bill and Dave have some damn good fun.

Hopefully, Bill’s on a few more times before Dave leaves The Late Show.

While Americans seem to show some interest for soccer during the World Cup, there is still a lack of interest in the game that the world calls football for the other 4 years of time when the World Cup isn’t happening.

John Oliver got some insight into why that might be based on his explanation of the English Premier League as well as the other subsequent soccer leagues in England to David Letterman on The Late Show.

In the world of late night, there are comedians that have mastered doing stand-up in the pinpoint, condensed style of delivering material without seeming pinpoint or condensed that most late night talk shows require. That’s part of the reason that a handful of stand-ups get to do several sets/make several apperances on several different shows.

One of those comedians is Jake Johannsen and you can see his latest appearance from this week amongst dozens over the last few decades here.

Last night on The Late Show with David Letterman, Tina Fey sat down and chatted with Dave about the havoc that her youngest daughter is currently wreaking. Fey also discussed a fool proof plan for nude photos in the event that they were stolen from her and leaked to the Internet.

On top of all of that, she found out that the movie that her and Amy Poehler are starring in, The Nest, might be going up against Star Wars Episode VII in theaters next Christmas.

Needless to say, Fey isn’t worried about it all about handling her crazed daughter, taking down Star Wars on opening weekend and outsmarting celebrity photo thieves.

Not that it should surprise you, but the upcoming Late Show with Stephen Colbert will stay in NYC at The Ed Sullivan Theater where David Letterman has been for several years taping The Late Show.

With The Tonight Show back in NYC, Conan O’Brien and Jimmy Kimmel will be the only late night shows that tape in LA in 2015. Well, that does all depend on what CBS plans on doing with Craig Ferguson’s slot and where Chelsea Handler does her Netflix show down the line.

That’s right, Tommy Johnagin has been on The Late Show with David Letterman to do stand-up 7 times. That’s becoming a harder and harder feat to accomplish these days given the proliferation of stand-up over the last decade. Last night marked his 7th set and, obviously, there’s a reason why Johnagin keeps getting invited back (hint: he’s damn funny).

(via The Wrap)

The end of Craig Ferguson’s run at The Late Late Show may be the end of The Late Late Show as well.

In CBS’ TCA presentation, CBS entertainment chief Nina Tassler revealed that she’s been toying with the idea of doing something different when David Letterman and Ferguson end their runs at The Late Show and The Late Late Show, respectively.

So far, Stephen Colbert is slated to replace Letterman at The Late Show, which will presumably be called The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. There has been much speculation over what would happen in the 12:30AM slot following Colbert then, but no replacement host has been picked and it might not even be a comedy-oriented program according to Tassler.

Tassler doesn’t make it clear whether that will happen or not, but only details the possibilities, which could further shake up the late night world.

Craig Ferguson Leaving The Late Late Show in December

In the wake of Stephen Colbert being set to take over The Late Show from David Letterman at some point next year, Craig Ferguson has opted against any sort of renewal as a host of The Late Late Show.

There is no word on a replacement, but we think that it could really go to anyone, an idea that CBS should keep in mind, given that Ferguson was definitely a roll of the die by CBS when he took The Late Late Show from Craig Kilborn.

Stephen Colbert to Replace David Letterman

Well, CBS isn’t waiting around to see what other choices might surface next year to replace Letterman. They’re putting their money on Stephen Colbert and it’s probably their best bet to compete with The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon as well as draw a brand new young audience that Colbert has at his command.

This makes us curious to how Colbert will potentially leave his Colbert Report character at Comedy Central.
