Help Fund “Yes & No” a Feature Comedy Kickstarter Only Asking for $800 (Really Looking for $7500 Though)

July 1, 2013

Sean O’Connor, James Pumphrey, Sam Brown, Michael Busch (members of D.I.R.T. Comedy) along with Melissa Stephens, all funny people, are making a movie about an improv group that goes on a retreat, unbeknownst to them, during the rampage of Christopher Dorner.

Called Yes & No, they only are asking for $800, but are looking for $7500 on Kickstarter because their project won’t get funded if they set their goal too high and only get close. Also, they’re on a quest to do a movie quicker, better, and for cheaper than Zach Braff, so just donate and help the cause already.

Yes, You Do Want To Support a Kickstarter for an Air Sex Championship Documentary

Yes, there is an Air Sex Championship going on since 2008 and if you’re thinking that it’s pretty much as advertised with people competing against each other in how well they act out sex by themselves on stage, then you’re right on the money. A documentary is being made exploring this phenomenon and we think you should support as it’s pretty funny, especially if you get over your prudish American ways, assuming that’s the case, and watch people try to mime sex for a high score.

If You Missed It, Here’s 5 Second Films’ 4.5 Hr. Stream-a-thon

At YouTube Studios this past week, 5 Second Films really played against type by doing a 4.5 hour live streamed show. Of course, not everyone had a 4.5 hour chunk in their day when the show happened, so they put the whole thing up in it’s entirety for your viewing pleasure.

Undoubtedly, we’re sure that someone will do the math if the entire running time of all 5 Second Films’ shorts is less or more than this whole show. Watch here. (Oh, you can still donate to their Kickstarter for their feature Dude Bro Party Massacre III here)

5 Second Films To Host Live Stream-a-Thon Show at YouTube Studios

Not sure if you caught this earlier in the week, but the amazing 5 Second Films are not only raising money for their feature project Dude Bro Party Massacre 3, but in doing so are hosting a live show to be streamed from YouTube Studios (the site of YouTube Comedy Week) featuring not only them, but some of their hysterical friends on June 20th.

You can be in the audience if you donate enough, which might be worth it. Either way you should support their project so Dude Bro Party Massacre 3 can happen.

The ‘That’s Not Funny’ Documentary Is Giving Another Go at Kickstarter

The ‘That’s Not Funny’ Documentary Is Giving Another Go at Kickstarter

Director Mike Celestino fell short of his first try at Kickstarter with his great documentary project “That’s Not Funny”, a dissecting of what’s offensive in comedy. Thankfully, he’s giving it another go with a slightly different approach, by raising a smaller amount of money to go throughout a city like LA to do interviews and more.

This was a very intriguing project when we first saw it and has a lot of great and qualified people (Paul Provenza, Greg Proops, Jackie Kashian, Kyle Kinane, and more) to comment on the topic of where the line is or if there is even a line in comedy, so we recommend you donate if you can to make it happen.

Camp is both very funny and has found his way to dig into divisive issues such as politics and religion in a way to make people laugh first, then think.

Not to disappoint on April Fool’s Day, Funny or Die did a whole series of fake Kickstarters “Kickstart or Die” (maybe they won’t be?) of feeding to our collective nostalgia like the Veronica Mars movie Kickstarter did. One of the best ones is the for Darkwing Duck because it’s Darkwing Duck like you’ve never seen before (and probably will only see once).

Arrested Development Documentary Has Launched Kickstarter to Pay For Licensing Fees

Some of you might know this and some of you might not, but that are a lot of hidden costs that go into making a documentary. A lot of those come unfortunately in the post production/distribution process as documentaries, at their outset, have little idea what the end result will be.

Such is the case with The Arrested Development Documentary Project as the project apparently has amassed a pretty big bill, $20,053, to pay for licensing for photos used in the documentary. Please donate so can we all see this film going behind one of the funniest series of all time.
