Today is apparently just coupled with season 3 of highly anticipated shows. Earlier, we had Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee and now it’s season 3 of Girls on HBO set to return Jan. 12th.

Watch the trailer for Girls here. Who knows? Maybe we’ll find a third one season 3 trailer and do that rule of three thing.

John Oliver at HBO Moves Forward with ‘Daily Show’s’ Tim Carvell as Showrunner

2014 can’t come any quicker despite all of us wanting to see what John Oliver is exactly cooking up over at HBO. Oliver is already setting his pieces in place for his show by having another Daily Show cohort join his ranks in head writer Tim Carvell.

In other words, we’re probably going to get something close to Oliver hosting The Daily Show this past summer or something possibly even better.

Rob Corddry Joins HBO Pilot ‘Ballers’

Rob Corddry is set to play a guy that has to deal with retired and active athletes as decidedly not an athlete in this HBO pilot.

Also, Peter Berg (Friday Night Lights) is directing the pilot. So, this will definitely be something to watch for .

Mike White Comedy Project in HBO Development Focused on Romance Novel Models

As reported earlier this week, Enlightened’s Mike White is returning to HBO in developing another comedy project.

For this show, White is keying in on the lives of romance novel models, which has us pretty much sold on the show.  Let’s hope that whole pilot order to series order goes quickly.

HBO Making TV Special Out of Billy Crystal’s One Man Show ‘700 Sundays’

That’s right-Billy Crystal’s hit one-man show 700 Sundays is going to be produced into a special for HBO. If you haven’t seen it, you might have seen Crystal doing the late night talk show circuit and be pretty great throughout.

Basically, you should get excited for this when it comes out next year.

This is good news for a few reasons.

One, HBO is developing another comedy. Two, HBO is having one of the Girls’ brass, executive producer Murray Miller, develop a series. And three, Enlightened’s Mike White might possibly be returning to HBO.

Bill Cosby and Sarah Silverman’s Long Awaited Comedy Specials Both Airing This Saturday

If you haven’t connected the dots, this is going to be a pretty big night for stand-up comedy, or really comedy in general, with Bill Cosby’s Far From Finished and Sarah Silverman’s We Are Miracles airing back to back, 8PM on Comedy Central and 10PM on HBO, respectively.

HBO Developing Comedy from Diablo Cody and Oprah Winfrey

Diablo Cody is having a nice year in doing a TBS talk show pilot, developing a series with Jack Black, Amanda Lund, and Matt Gourley at Fox, and now developing another series with, you did read that headline right, Oprah Winfrey at HBO.

So, 2014 could be a banner TV year for Cody and Oprah WInfrey, we’re guessing, really liked Juno.

We don’t know how long you think you’ve been waiting for the next season of HBO’s Girls, but know that we’ve all waiting the same time whether you think it’s relatively short or way too long.

With that said, here’s the trailer that’s been a long time coming for season 3 of Girls and it’ll make the premiere slated for next year seem like too long of a wait for how promising it looks.

John Oliver Leaving The Daily Show to Star in HBO Show That Sounds a Lot Like The Daily Show

Just like that scene at the beginning of Inception where Cobb impresses Saito at the covert audition, HBO must have been really impressed with the Summer of John Oliver at The Daily Show and are giving him his own show that looks at politics, culture, and more (seemingly much like The Daily Show).

That only leaves us to wonder if there is a heir apparent in mind now for Jon Stewart?

Jack Black and Tim Robbins to Star in HBO Comedy ‘The Brink’

The HBO dark political thriller comedy from Jerry Weintraub, Jay Roach and Roberto Benabib now has a pretty solid starring cast in Jack Black and Tim Robbins and we can only hope that this could possibly be a Dr. Strangelove for television.

It’s really hard to argue that comedy isn’t best enjoyed in an intimate space, which is why we have been very keen on Sarah Silverman’s latest HBO special We Are Miracles that was taped at Largo’s Little Room that has a maximum capacity well below the main room’s of around 300.

Just look at this latest promo to see how nice to very simply watch comedy in that small of a venue and also realize that we’re all going to get to watch a new Sarah Silverman stand up special on Nov. 23rd on HBO 10PM.

The long awaited next comedy special from Sarah Silverman that was recorded at The Little Room at Largo at the Coronet Theatre is coming soon.

Specifically, Nov. 23rd at 10PM on HBO, we all will see We Are Miracles and what hopefully will be a trendsetter in not doing stand up specials in cavernous theaters. Watch a teaser at the link.

Sarah Silverman Set to Play Siblings in HBO’s People In New Jersey

The Lorne Michaels and Paul Feig HBO comedy in pilot set in New Jersey will now have Sarah Silverman as well as Topher Grace in the cast.

While the premise of the show isn’t much more defined that a modern take on life these days, specifically in NJ, Paul Feig should make for something really interesting.

HBO Orders Political Comedy Pilot From Jay Roach/Jerry Weintraub/Roberto Benabib

Veep has been quite the success for HBO and there’s certainly room for scripted political comedy on TV, even on the same channel.

This project sounds very intriguing as it sounds basically like Dr. Strangelove for TV and it’s being developed at a place like HBO.

Mike White Headed to NBC with Chef Comedy Pilot

Together, Mike White, Joe Port, and Joe Wiseman have sold a pilot to NBC centering around the world of chefs.

This is yet another surprising, but also welcome move by NBC as to what direction they want to head in comedy as they’re developing a pilot from the guy who created Enlightened at HBO.

Larry David’s Clear History Premieres Tonight on HBO

Even if this ends up being a feature length episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm, we’ll be more than happy with that.

Sarah Silverman’s HBO Special to Air in November

It won’t quite be Maria Bamford’s Special Special Special performed in front of her parents in her house, but Sarah Silverman’s latest stand up special in an intimate venue in LA will be coming to HBO in late November.

We know that’s far away, but we’ll remind you again amidst all the attempts at making a hit Thanksgiving song around that time.

Full Trailer for Larry David’s ‘Clear History’

Larry David has been keeping his improvised HBO movie, “Clear History” kind of secret ever since it was announced not giving up too much details until now with the release of a full trailer. Though David looks vastly different for a part of the movie, it’s not surprising that he plays a character not too far off from the Larry David in Curb Your Enthusiasm/real life, which we’re sure there will be plenty of people happy with that.

Ken Marino Joins Eastbound & Down For Final Season

Though we know that he wasn’t a regular cast member on Eastbound & Down, we, for a brief second, were really surprised that Ken Marino wasn’t already on the show just based off of recent performances in Burning Love and Wanderlust.

Either way, with news like this, we’re looking forward to the show closing out strong.

Veep Season Finale Is Tonight

At 10PM on HBO tonight, it’ll be the last chance to see a new episode of Veep as it’s the season finale… until, of course, the next season.

After, you’ll just have to watch it on DVD or relive it through .gifs on Tumblr, so make sure you get this one in.

Season 38 of Girls Might Just Star Laraine Newman

There have been a lot of parodies of Lena Dunham’s Girls ever since the first trailer dropped. However, writer/director Gail Lerner did her take on Girls going 38 seasons, which is longer than The Simpsons, with the likes of Laraine Newman and Martin Starr and it’s both pretty spot on and pretty great.

Give a watch to the possible future.
