In anticipation of their Live in London HBO special, the Flight of the Conchords gave a preview of what’s to come via a performance of their yet-to-be-released song Father & Son on last night’s Colbert.

Perhaps, this is FOTC’s answer to the legendary Cat’s in the Cradle and how that also might go awry? Watch and enjoy it here.

Long ago, before Rhys Darby was in a show about another musical sketch comedy duo, Rhys was part of his own musical comedy sketch duo with Grant Lobban called Rhysently Granted. Then, Darby rose to acclaim with his own comedy and playing a supporting role in that other musical sketch comedy duo’s show, Flight of The Conchords.

20 years later, Darby is teaming up with Lobban again to show us all what we’re missing. So far, they’re doing two shows in LA, one at the Nerdmelt Showroom on Tuesday, March 29th at 7PM and one at Westside Comedy Theater on Wednesday, Mar. 30th at 8PM, which will also include a solo stand-up performance from Rhys.

Tickets are $8 in advance/$10 at door and $15 respectively.

Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie Are Deveoping a “Flight of the Conchords” Movie

The project is in infant stages, but the fact that it’s in stages at all is hope that we’ll all get to see the Flight of the Conchords once again.

Both Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie, best known as the musical comedy duo Flight of the Conchords, are at work on developing a feature length project centered around the Flight of the Conchords.

As we said before, there isn’t anyone else involved at this point, but we think it would be a big opportunity missed by anyone who passed on this and didn’t make sure that it not only got greenlit and made, but fast tracked as well.

There is talk between Jemaine and Bret for The Flight of The Conchords to go on tour later this year. We hope this comes to fruition as they were both magical during their run for Funny or Die’s first Oddball Festival Comedy Tour.

Also, it would be the perfect thing to follow up the other major comedy tour this year from Weird Al Yankovic scheduled to end later this year.

Watch a Concert Film From The Old Largo with Zach Galifianakis, Sarah Silverman, Paul F. Tompkins, Flight of The Conchords, and More

Over 6 years ago, Largo was not the gorgeous theatre that you see at The Coronet these days. It was an even smaller venue with a bar in Fairfax Village here in LA.

However, even back then, a mix of some of the best comedians and innovative musicians and singers all came together under the roof of Largo to play.

In 2008, a concert film was released of the old Largo with the likes of Fred Armisen, Fiona Apple, Greg Behrendt, Paul F. Tompkins, Elliott Smith, Sarah Silverman, Greg Proops, Sarah Silverman, Flight of the Conchords, Patton Oswalt, Louis CK, Zach Galifianakis, Aimee Mann, Andrew Bird, and more all performing.

Now, it’s online for you to enjoy on Vimeo in beautiful black and white. Watch LARGO here.

HBO Has Commissioned a New Four Episode Comedy from Jemaine of the Flight of the Conchords

Flight of the Conchords’ Bret and Jemaine might be back at it again and you might be able, in the same turn, stop holding your breath.

According to a recent interview with Jemaine Clement, HBO has commissioned four episodes of a new comedy from Jemaine. It’s unclear if it’s going to stem from the world of the series of Flight of the Conchords or if it’s going to be something different, hopefully still with delightfully funny tunes and jams.

Whatever it ends up being, we’re glad that Clement is up to something that we’ll be able to readily watch in the States and we hope it makes to HBO soon.

Stream HBO Series on Amazon Prime Starting Today

Finally, you don’t have to have an HBO subscription in order to get HBO Go to stream some of your favorite HBO shows online. A whole load of HBO content just hit Amazon including Eastbound & Down, Flight of the Conchords, early seasons of Veep and Girls, and several comedy specials. You do however have to be an Amazon Prime subscriber, which might be bitter sweet, as you’ll pay $99 for one year of Amazon Prime.

However, that’s roughly around $100 cheaper than a year of HBO if it’s any consolation.

Rhys Darby who we hope you know from Flight of The Conchords just started a brand new web series at Nerdist’s YouTube Channel delving into the paranoia of the approaching post-apocalyptic dystopia inevitably creeping towards the present, but, of course, done with a goofy Rhys twist.

Really, the show should be called Reasons to Laugh Hard at Rhys Darby’s Reasons to Be Scared of the Future. Watch the first episode here.

…and Fox is continuing to kill it with their comedy development slate, both animated and live action.

We really hope this makes it to series ASAP for both the sake of Fox and Bret McKenzie being back on American television.
