Pick of the Day: High Priestess Austin’s Safe Alliance Benefit 2/26

As Texas is coming out of its gruesome winter crisis that left millions without power to fend for themselves, there is more than plenty of fallout and aftermath to deal with on the road to recovery. So, in short, they’re going to need more aid.

That’s why the wondrous and magical comedy variety show, High Priestess, is doing a very special live-stream show in support of Austin’s Safe Alliance that is providing much needed resources to Texans in dire need right now (in addition to be an org in service of abuse survivors). Hosts/Priestesses Bri Pruett and Sara June have assembled some grand comics that have their hearts with Texas including Maggie Maye, Daniel Rugg Webb, Vanessa Gonzalez, and Madison Shepard. Stand-up, tarot, weed, and a damn good time for a great cause is all set for this edition of High Priestess on Fri. Feb. 26th at 6:30PM PT/9:30PM ET.

RSVP/support/donate here.

Pick of the Day: Live at Tribeca Drive-In @ Rose Bowl

With the return to popularity that drive-in theaters have gotten during these months of lockdown, it’s no surprise to see that other forms of entertainment are opting to try to do something at a drive-in that isn’t just screening a movie because people can stay in their cars to stay safe as the COVID-19 pandemic persists (as well as being one of the very few permitted public events right now). That indeed includes live comedy. LA hasn’t gotten the experience of a live drive-in stand-up comedy show yet, though that will be changing next week.

Comedy Dynamics is hosting four exclusive nights of live stand-up comedy, July 9th-12th at 9PM, at the Tribeca Drive-In pop-up at The Rose Bowl in Pasadena. The Tribeca Drive-In itself actually starts screening movies tonight.

Headlining will be a handful of comedians that you ought to get to know since they’ll, as far as we’ve seen, probably rise further up the comedy ladder than they already have very soon. That includes Dave Helem, Ester Steinberg, Daniel Webb, and Erica Rhodes performing 7/9-7/12 respectively.

Tickets are $26 per vehicle and you can go get tickets here. If you do go, do take proper caution and limit physical contact, wear a mask, and maintain distance at all times. Also, please note that Comedy Dynamics will be taping these performances for “later viewing” if you’d rather stay safe at home and still watch.

Pick of the Day: High Priestess in Cyberspace 5/27

For most months, High Priestess has served up LA a bewitching offering of live comedy, weed, and tarot. Hosts Bri Pruett and Sara June always brought together a beautiful line-up of LA’s best and presented their show in intimate, enchanting spaces.

LA’s still on lockdown, so that can’t necessarily get you to those intimate spaces yet or provide you with weed through the screen, but High Priestess is still aiming to bring you a great witchy comedy experience via live-stream. High Priestess in Cyberspace, their first live-stream show, will have a grand line-up of Casey Ley, Daniel Rugg Webb, Tessa Skara, and Bri Giger and live tarot as well all over Zoom on Wed. May 27th at 8PM PT/11PM ET.

So, you can (and very much should) RSVP for High Priestess in Cyberspace here.

Just because Trump is a brat, doesn’t mean that he’s the only elected representative whose feet should be held to the fire by comedy.

So, the Left Coast podcast with Sara June is putting on a roast of reps at the state level here in good ol’ CA. The line-up with some of our favorites here in LA is more than up to task.

Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at door. Get them ahead of time here.
