Dan Harmon Explains Being in The “Eh” Column About Community Going Elsewhere
This morning, Dan Harmon, the creator of Community, gave his expanded thoughts on the cancellation of Community by NBC, not being hyped for it going off-network, and the love of his fans.
Disregard any “talks” or “rumors” about Community in place of reading this.
Community made it to only five seasons of its six seasons and a movie goal before getting the axe by the peacock (why isn’t there a meme or .gif of a peacock with an axe yet?).
If you’re feeling real sore about it, you should check out Dan Harmon’s other show at Adult Swim, Rick and Morty because it’s also pretty damn great.
Alison Brie has already captured our collective attention as Annie Edison on Community and Trudy Campbell on Mad Men, but she is on her way to having a banner year with three projects she’s set in motion.
So far, she’s going to co-star with Adam Scott in Sleeping With Other People, joining the cast of Will Ferrell and Kevin Hart’s Get Hard, and also producing her own comedy pilot Teachers at TV Land.
This is only 3 months in to 2014, so who knows how much higher she’ll go.
Donald Glover Might Be Returning To ‘Community’
Based off an e-mail you’d get if you sign-up for more info on a tour that Donald Glover/Childish Gambino might be going on, Troy Barnes very well might be returning to Greendale Community College.
Whether it’s true or not, you can’t help but think what Dan Harmon will cook up for a Troy return.
Community is officially back with Dan Harmon at the helm and to the series that got the idea of six seasons and a movie going. The premiere was last night, but you can watch the first two episodes right now.

After, well, everything that’s Community has been through, Community is back for its 5th season on Jan. 2nd on NBC.

David Cross Will Guest Star In A New Dungeons And Dragons Episode Of ‘Community’
In case you don’t know, Dan Harmon is a dedicated fan of Dungeons and Dragons (he plays it live on his podcast Harmontown) and is bringing that together on this latest season of Community along with the likes of David Cross.
So, it looks like there will be plenty to look forward to this season of Community in terms of it going wherever it wants.
‘Breaking Bad’ Creator Vince Gilligan to Guest Star on ‘Community’
Despite Breaking Bad being one of the most intense dramas ever, you can’t ignore the fact that the show has had comedians Bob Odenkirk, Bill Burr, and Matt Jones in roles and is undoubtedly a comedy aficionado.
That’s why it’s only slightly surprising that he’s making a guest appearance on Community (the surprising part being about him acting).
Community Gets Season Premiere Date at NBC
It’s really happening that Community is coming back to the NBC line-up on Thursdays starting Jan. 2nd. This time, they won’t have any holiday specific episodes that air way after that holiday or maybe they will and they’ll both probably be great.
Nathan Fillion To Guest Star on ‘Community’
Along with bringing back John Oliver back for multiple episodes, Community is starting to put together a star studded cameo cast for this upcoming season with this news of Nathan Fillion coming on as a guest star.
Maybe, this is in a move to balance the exit of Donald Glover from the series. If so, we wonder who else they have in store.

‘Community’ Brings Back John Oliver for Season 5 for Multi-Episode Arc
While Donald Glover is doing only a few episodes on this latest season of Community, you can take a bit of comfort for John Oliver returning to the series because, as this summer showed as host of The Daily Show filling in for Jon Stewart, John Oliver added to anything definitely deserves you watching it.
The 2nd Communicon, The Community Convention, To Sell Tickets Through Kickstarter
Communicon, he convention completely organized and held by fans of NBC’s Community and not associated with NBC or Sony Television, many of you’ll be happy to hear, is preparing for their second edition.
Also worthy of note, they’re cutting a step out of many fan organized projects these days by exclusively selling admission to the convention through a Kickstarter reward. Be sure, if you want to go, August 7th 5PM PST will be when the Kickstarter launches/tickets go on sale.
2nd Communicon Planned for This Year
The fan organized and produced Community, the NBC series, convention is being planned for a second round in LA (presumably at another community college?).
The dates are only tentative at this point, but the organizers are shooting for October, which will definitely make a case for an Los Angeles Comedy Festival Month because A Festival Supreme and the LA Podcast Festival will also take place that very month.
Sony Pictures TV Confirms Dan Harmon & Chris McKenna Are Returning To ‘Community’
Well, Dan Harmon and Chris McKenna’s return to the show he created Community is now official.
We wonder if anyone is cashing in on this in Vegas?
Community series creator Dan Harmon tweeted this morning in response to a fan demanding a straight answer on whether returning to Community, “Yes yes yes!" Specific details have yet to be released, and even what it would mean for Harmon’s other projects.
So, perhaps, NBC’s bending their plan to complete rebrand their comedy?
Community Renewed For a 13 Episode 5th Season
Not only did Community survive for another round, but, apparently, there’s rumor of Dan Harmon being brought back. That might be a little difficult to balance though considering the Adult Swim series he’s working on just got picked up.
The very first Community themed convention, Communicon, happened this year and as it took place in what we guess is a multi-purpose room at LA Community College (how appropriate, right?) it was packed to the walls.
