Two of our favorite comedians to watch right now that America will hopefully know from far and wide are performing tonight on your television (and probably tomorrow on whatever device you watch YouTube on).

Rory Scovel will be back again on Conan (TBS 11PM), which is always fantastic, and the terrific Cameron Esposito will be on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson (CBS 12:35AM) making her late night stand up debut.

In short, don’t miss these.

Required Online Reading Comedy List 8/9: “How To Not…” Edition

Over the last couple of weeks, three articles have specifically stuck out to us in that they address very important issues in comedy that rarely get talked about. It has nothing to really do with joke thievery or rape jokes or the normal stuff you see politically correct inspired blogs get outraged over, but how to not have your corporate gig go awry or how to not let the bitterness get the best of you as a comedian are definitely topics in comedy that need discussing.

That’s why we’re telling you to read this three wonderfully written articles that center loosely around a theme of “how not to…”  by three wonderful comedians:

Grandma Kashian’s Guide to Hiring a Comedian for your Function by Jackie Kashian
What Jealousy and Bitterness Can Do For Your Comedy Career by Andy Sandford
To That Threesome Heckler by Cameron Esposito

This week when the Defense Of Marriage Act was declared unconstitutional by The Supreme Court, the amazing Cameron Esposito wrote a piece in two parts on what happened afterwards, specifically with her father who has had a conflicted relationship with Cameron ever since she came out as gay to him.

Yet, that’s changed and what Cameron wrote about it is pretty wonderful, heart-wrenching, funny, and hopeful and so many other adjectives that will just take up to much space on this post. We feel privileged that we got to catch her reading it live at the latest Risk Storytelling Show this past week.

Read parts one and two now, probably with a good cup of coffee or tea to make for a very nice hour this Sunday afternoon.

We thought that comedians Matt Ingebretson and Dave Ross were just going to fence with no fencing experience as a one-off, but, as it thankfully turns out, we’re getting more of these Idiot Fencing videos.

This latest one features Bridger Winegar and Cameron Esposito and a house and several house items that are completely illegal in actual fencing. Thanks to creator Matt Ingebretson and director Pat Bishop for keeping this going.

The very funny trio of comedians Cameron Esposito, Ricky Carmona, and Rhea Butcher have come together to start the latest podcast on Jesse Thorn’s MaximumFun.org network. It’s all talk of movies with big bangs, loud explosions, and more on Wham Bam Pow with professed movie with explosion fan comedians.

Sounds like something great to us. You should give it a listen.
