Please Enjoy This Sweet and Absurdist Short “The Do It Up Date”

Based off a modern fairy tale of sorts that Josh Fadem wrote, The Do It Up Date is, as we see it, pretty close to how many folks feel on a first date. By the way, it got a nod from SXSW this year and picked by Vimeo Staff.

Also, it’s Emily Ting & Andrew Barchilon and stars Bridey Elliott and Josh Fadem.

Give it a watch here.

One of the most revered weekly stand-up shows in the country, The Meltdown with Jonah and Kumail, ended its 6 year run last month, which included three seasons as a TV series on Comedy Central.

Naturally, the 8:30PM slot at Nerdmelt where Meltdown took place was going to be filled in by something given Meltdown’s status as a flagship show at the theater.

In two weeks, you will all have a very exciting and worthy show filling in with Rabbit Hole with Jay Larson and Rory Scovel produced by Nerdmelt’s Caitlin Durante. Larson and Scovel are two of our favorites and this show will be in good hands as you can see with our thoughts on Jay’s recent album Human Math and Scovel’s latest Conan set.

In the inaugural show, Kate Berlant, Todd Glass, Bridey Elliott, Joe Mande, Baron Vaughn, and a surprise guest will be performing. It should go without saying that it’ll be a hell of a show and something that will get us all through the next few years and beyond.

Tickets are $10 and are available now here.

You can keep up with Rabbit Hole on @therabbitholela on Twitter, @therabbitholela on Instagram, and on Facebook.

The latest episode of noveau Odd Couple web series Roommates with Greg Barris and Bridey Elliott has Greg baptize his roommate, who is 16 years his junior.

Of course, it’s a much more “out there” baptism than your typical being lowered into a tub of water or being dunked into water. And by “out there”, we do mean drugs are involved.

Watch it here.

“Roommates” Greg Barris and Bridey Elliott Violate Some Personal Boundaries You Probably Didn’t Know Existed

When having roommates, having ground rules for each other’s personal boundaries goes without saying. Well, the actual ground rules are said, but the idea of having them is pretty much common law.

With that being said, people like Greg Barris and Bridey Elliott in their web series Roommates have some rules that most folks probably don’t have to go through because they’re probably relatively normal/well-adjusted/same age/gender.

Watch the latest episode of Roommates to see what lines get crossed between two of the most mismatched people ever.

If there was a dire time that would drive dissimilar roommates into the same living situation, it would probably be now.

Greg Barris and Bridey Elliott end up in such a situation where they’re different genders and vastly different in age in their new web series, aptly named Roommates.

Watch the first episode here and see how you can see how they’d be the more true-to-life, modern update of The Odd Couple.

“Fort Tilden” Out in Theaters and VOD Today

If you’re in or around the limited release theaters around the country where Fort Tilden has just opened (it’s playing a few places outside of LA and NYC), please go see it. You can also watch in on VOD from the comfort of wherever you are.

Sarah-Violet Bliss and Charles Rogers’ millennial odyssey starring Bridey Elliott and Claire McNulty is so damn acerbically funny and genuinely captures so much of what’s enjoyably ridiculous about the generation of today.

If you’re fatigued from the run of big budget tentpole movies this summer, we think you might really dig this.

In this age of social media, the logistics of hanging out in person can potentially more complicated than it’s ever been.

Well, at least it’s complicated for Clare McNulty as Allie and Bridey Elliott as Harper they just try to hang with some boys at the beach. For the rest of us, it looks like it’ll be a pretty fun buddy road trip rom com in Fort Tilden from writer-directors Sarah-Violet Bliss and Charles Rogers.

Watch the trailer here, then look for its theatrical release and on VOD on Aug. 14th.

The summertime would be a great time for a summer romance, hence the name, but in this day and age of hooking up via online dating, it’s not as dreamy as we’d like it to be, no matter how hard we dream.

Watch Paul Gale and Bridey Elliott show what that Tinder date might end up being this summer.
