As today is Martin Luther King Jr. Day, one ought to be reflecting on the past and where we’ve gotten to in the present moment as well as celebrating the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr.

So, with that in mind, we’d like to highlight the amazing live historical comedy show, Drunk Black History, that’s on Feb. 25th. Brandon Collins and Gordon Baker-Bone preside over the a line-up of marvelous NYC folks attempting to tell the story of renowned Black heroes in history while undeniably three sheets to the wind.

This particular edition of Drunk Black History will feature Felix Rodriguez, Andre Perry, and Errin Haines and convene at Brooklyn’s Bell House at 9PM ET (Doors 8:30PM ET) on Fri. Feb. 25th. YouTube’s move for Black History Month is to have an entire special to shining a light on the black innovators and leaders of our time, Black Renaissance: The Art and Soul of our Stories. So many different black folks will be have their story told in what should by a highly and tightly produced showcase of black excellence now and what it will very likely be in the near future.

For comedy, the special will be focusingn on late night disruptors Desus & Mero, beloved multi-hyphenate Nicole Byer, and upstart icon Ziwe Fumudoh, all four of which are some of our absolute favorites in comedy and should be more touted and awarded and hired than they currently are (which is quite a bit).

Look for Black Renaissance: The Art and Soul of our Stories to premiere on YouTube’s YouTube Originals channel on Feb. 26th (right before Black History Month ends) and get a taste of what’s to come in this trailer here.

Drunk History has been and remains one of the most satisfying ways important, often overlooked tales of history have ever been shared. As it’s officially February, Black History Month, it is thus the perfect time for some Drunk Black History.

Comedians Brandon Collins and Gordon Baker-Bone will be hosting a very special line-up of drunk black comedians attempting to tell some very important Black History stories via Zoom. The likes of Aminah Imani, Abbi Crutchfield, Brian Moses, and Derek Gaines will join Collins and Baker-Bone on this edition of Drunk Black History.

It’s not long before Drunk History is back in our lives. Season 2 premieres on July 1st at 10PM on Comedy Central. While that’s some weeks away, they just released one of the stories featuring a great, drunk Allan McLeod and Jordan Peele reenacting scientist Percy Julian.
