American Barbershop in Echo Park, in the before times, was home to a handful of delightful live comedy shows in their spacious, stylish interior, complete with a stage under a moose head.

Now, they’re keeping the spirit alive with an outdoor show called Freshair that’s a partnership of longtime LA comedy shows Classic Comedy and Comedians You Should Know LA. It’s outside, out back behind American Barbershop, requires masks and distancing, and we’ll feature stand-up from many of LA’s finest.

This particular edition will feature:

Dan Ahdoot
Allison Leber
Renee Gauthier

Freshair is set for this Saturday, Nov. 7th at 8PM PT and tickets are going for $15. Enjoy a night out and a nice break from everything this week has been by snagging some tickets here (there are discounts if you buy two or four tickets).

Also, if you’re not down to watch the show in person, they’ll be live-streaming the show as well for only $5.

Chill, clever, cheeky, thoughtful and, again, very chill, Aaron Weaver is the perfect comedian to get a laugh while stargazing, enjoying a sunset, or any other sort image that’s meditative.

In fact, this debut album Cosmic Joke opens with a very laid back, but delightful guided meditation that sets the tone of easing back on an inner tube on a lazy river. That being said, Weaver’s writing and observations are very slick (and silly) and he uses his stoner-affected delivery and cadence to hide the seams of his well-crafted jokes. All in all, Cosmic Joke is a comedy album that’s probably perfectly paced for these times if you need to need to laugh about the universe in a way that isn’t fueled by existential dread.

It’s been a minute, but one of our favorite shows, Full Moon Comedy, that melds the comedy and spiritual worlds is finally back for another round. Stand-up, guided meditation, metaphysical guests, and more are always brought to you lovingly by Lindsay Adams and Aaron Weaver.

This latest edition of Full Moon Comedy is set for Sunday, April 15th at 7:30PM at The Green Man Store in North Hollywood and will include the great comedic stylings of Jackie Kashian, Candy Lawrence, and Will Miles. To attend, they’d like a modest $5-$10 suggested donation.
