HBO Renews Veep for 3rd Season

Veep just got renewed for a third season and hopefully, if you’re not already familiar, will get a chance to see what all the talk about Armando Iannucci is about.

There’s Going To Be a NTSF:SD:SUV Movie
First of all, as said above, there is going to be a NTSF:SD:SUV movie, which should already make you excited. Second, it’s going to be a NTSF:SD:SUV:London, which is pretty awesome.
Thirdly, very funny UK comedian Peter Serafinowicz is going to be in it and so you should definitely keep tabs on this like we will.
For The Hollywood Reporter’s new Comedy Issue, they had a roundtable discussion with Anthony Jeselnik, Cecily Strong, Kristen Schaal, Rob Delaney, and Nick Kroll. In this clip, Jeselnik explains his strict no-apology policy when it comes to his jokes/comedy.
Watch it here.

The long awaited series of half hour Comedy Central specials, The Half Hour, returns this Friday, tomorrow, May 3rd at MIDNIGHT. Starting it off are Dan Soder and Nikki Glaser, respectively. So, don’t wait until last call to go home or make sure the bar you’re at stops playing music and puts on Comedy Central at 12AM.

Specifically, the scripted “trying to be a reality show star” starring Bo Burnham Zach Stone Is Gonna Be Famous premieres tonight at 10:30PM over at MTV. From the clips we’ve seen, this looks like it could be pretty great, so make sure you have your home by 10:30PM, set your DVR, or whatever you do to make sure you don’t miss shows.

Bill Tull, Conan O Brien’s prop master, has returned to give more tips for the upcoming celebrations surrounding Cinco De Mayo. Of course, as with all Tull’s suggestions, while they do save you money, it’d probably be best to not do them around children or small animals.
Zach Galifiankis sat down with Jimmy Fallon last night and recounted his very short stint writing at SNL, consequently creeping out Britney Spears when she was hosting, and the upside to hitchhiking.
All in all, it’s the type of stories we’d like to hear more of on late night.
For Alex Mann’s innovative web series Conversations With A Twitter Feed where comedians respond to tweets from various Twitter accounts with real life responses, Mike Lawrence combats the haunting memories that have come with working at McDonald’s for several years while responding to McDonald’s social media person’s sort of generic tweeting just about their food.
Give it a watch now.
For those who have been waiting years for the seemingly improbable return of Arrested Development, the wait is almost over with a premiere of a new season on Netflix soon. As that’s the case, the anticipation is incredibly high so much so that we’re glad a full documentary about Arrested Development just got released to buy/download to tide us over.
Here’s a trailer for The Arrested Development Documentary Project to refresh your memory.
The very funny Tone Bell and Shane Mauss both got to perform stand-up last night on late night talk shows. See their sets on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson where Bell got called over to the couch and Conan where Mauss got a nice amount of applause breaks.

Given that Marc Maron’s brand new IFC series ‘Maron’ premieres tonight with an episode that wasn’t the one uploaded to YouTube and the very funny Dan Soder and Nikki Glaser’s half hour Comedy Central specials are premiering tonight, maybe you should stay in or don’t feel so bad for staying in if that’s your normal routine on Friday night.
The season premiere of Maron is at 10PM on IFC and The Half Hour season premiere is at 12AM on Comedy Central.

Do you like your alien invasion movies to include the plot twist of invaders starting a folk band rather than destroy everyone? Well, just you wait for ‘History of Future Folk’ to come out, which is exactly that.
From the trailer, it seems like a little bit of A Mighty Wind and Tenacious D in the setting of an alien movie. Give it a watch and see for yourself and see it when it comes out in limited release in LA on June 7th.
The Beards of Comedy Are Going Solo
The very funny facial hair themed comedy quartet of Andy Sanford, Dave Stone, Joe Zimmerman, and TJ Young, better known as The Beards of Comedy, are parting ways amicably to pursue solo projects. However, they have a last few dates if you want to catch them before any of them will possibly go beardless (and you happen to be in North Carolina or Georgia).
Either way, you should check The Beards of Comedy and Andy, Dave, Joe, and TJ separately where you can.
MTV has put up the first episode of ‘Zach Stone Is Gonna Be Famous’ starring Bo Burnham online for free. Give it a watch, that is, if you feel like laughing pretty hard right now.

In case you’re not aware, there’s a whole scene worth of indie improv in LA as evidenced by the annual LA Indie Improv Festival. It’s pretty huge with the amount of teams they have performing and if you want in, there’s still time to submit (deadline is May 8th).

Robot Chicken Doing The Simpsons Couch Gag Tonight
It’ll be interesting to see what they come up with and if it takes up way more time than the usual couch gag on The Simpsons. We also wonder when a Simpsons Museum comes around, will there be a whole gallery dedicated to the couch gag.
Check it at 8PM on Fox.
For those of you not in LA or NYC to see Zach Galifianakis going up lately and doing stand-up, here’s what you probably jonesing for.
Here’s the full, uncensored roundtable discussion for The Hollywood Reporter’s comedy issue between Anthony Jeselnik, Ceciliy Strong, Rob Delaney, Kristen Schaal, and Nick Kroll where they dip in and out of talking offensive jokes/Twitter/networks not taking risks and Kroll getting emotional about The Tonight Show.

At some point recently, Kyle Kinane was pitching a show where he traveled across this great land of ours and finding all the fascinating folks/possibly misrepresented subcultures that populate it. That show was “Kyle Kinane’s Going Nowhere”, which, unfortunately didn’t get picked up.
Watch the pilot presentation for yourself where Kinane is dressed up in BDSM wear, goes to meet a wizard, and hope this gets made into a show someplace soon.
Myq Kaplan Returns to The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson
It’s good to see and hear Myq Kaplan doing stand-up once again on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson after being bumped a few weeks ago. Sometimes, guests do go too long and it’s just happenstance why we’ll have to wait to see Kaplan do another nice late night set.
The hysterical sketch group Dead Kevin has been picked up by Comedy Central to produce more episodes to be posted at ComedyCentral.com. This starts on Wednesday, specifically this Wed. May 8th and is weekly, which we hope you don’t forget.
Here’s a little announcement video from Dead Kevin to make sure you’ll remember.
