Season 8 of Last Comic Standing Apparently Taking E-mail Submissions

Reportedly, there will be no more lines outside of comedy clubs in order to audition for the upcoming season Last Comic Standing, but you’ll still be able to go without representation having to submit you on their behalf.

No word on a deadline, but ASAP would probably be better than letter.

NBC Orders Pilot of Rob Lowe Tennis Comedy ‘The Pro’

Rob Lowe is getting closer to moving from fictional politics to fictional former tennis fame in this comedy project The Pro that just got a pilot order at NBC.

We’re curious who else gets attached to this and if it’s going to be done with the mockumentary style that has gotten NBC so much success.

‘Modern Family’s Paul Corrigan & Brad Walsh Ink Overall Deal With 20th Century Fox TV

The latest overall network deal (Amy Poehler and Louis C.K. have gotten them recently at NBC and FX respectively) goes to Paul Corrigan and Brad Walsh from Modern Family.

However, it’s not at ABC, but rather 20th Century Fox, which, again is amassing a nice set of projects and people for their current development slate.

Adam Scott’s 4th The Greatest Event in Television History Is Tonight

Three attempts at The Greatest Event in Television History/doing shot-for-shot remakes of old sitcom openings has proved to be not enough for Adam Scott, so he’s going for a fourth try tonight.

At midnight tonight on Adult Swim, Adam Scott and Paul Rudd will premiere their latest and greatest “event”, which, of course, upcoming Sochi Winter Olympics has nothing on.

Fred Armisen to Release Singles by His Fictional SNL Bands

If Fred Armisen’s collection of singles from his fake bands from SNL works out, maybe he’ll put out another collection from all the fake bands “he was in” with Jimmy Fallon.

Hometown Heroes has its first single come out next month.

We know it’s been way too long since season 2, but you only have to wait just over one more month.

Colin Jost To Be New SNL Weekend Update Co-Anchor

Colin Jost will join Cecily Strong in co-anchoring Saturday Night Live’s Weekend Update replacing Seth Meyers when Meyers heads to Late Night.

The shifting from Weekend Update host to Late Night host to host of The Tonight Show seems to be a last bastion of old school television especially considering that many of the newer late night shows are named just after the host.

You can pre-order it now for digital and vinyl release and, who are you kidding, you should just go do that right now because you know you’ll want to hear this.

‘Ellen’ To Air In China

A deal has been made to air The Ellen DeGeneres Show in China after it airs here in the U.S.

Someone needs to make a mini documentary of how Chinese people react to Ellen when it airs on a regular basis.

Bill Cosby Returning To NBC To Star In Family Comedy

NBC is having one of the most noted and respected names in comedy Bill Cosby back on the network.

There’s no specifics on what the half hour series would be, but given Cosby’s latest special Far From Finished, doing things like taking over Funny or Die’s Twitter account, constantly leading Jimmy Fallon through his late night segments during his appearance, we’d guess that this will be a Cosby Show for now.

Rashida Jones To Star in Steve Carell’s TBS Comedy Pilot ‘Tribeca’

Having Rashida Jones star in this a police procedural comedy pilot from Steve Carell should equal automatic series pick up. With that news, Carell’s Tribeca just even got more highly anticipated amongst comedy pilots this season.

Let’s see if the TV development math checks out soon.

B.J. Novak Writing Children’s Book Without Pictures

B.J. Novak wants to get kids into reading sans visual aids unlike most of the fare in the children’s book world.

So, he’s writing The Book With No Pictures for kids to accomplish just that. Curious to see if this becomes successful enough that someone would option it for a TV series or a feature and undermine the whole premise.

Patton Oswalt and Fred Armisen To Be in Vegas Episode of Modern Family

Patton Oswalt and Fred Armisen will be guest starring on Modern Family later this season when the show takes a trip to Vegas.

Oswalt probably won’t get to do another improvised Star Wars filibuster/pitch, but let’s hope something like that happens.

Amy Poehler To Be Fallon’s Last Guest, Meyers’ First Guest on “Late Night”

Whether a link between eras of comedy at SNL between Jimmy Fallon and Seth Meyers or just one of the funniest people around, it’s a smart move, in our opinion to have Amy Poehler be the guest to send off Fallon to The Tonight Show and welcome Meyers to Late Night.
