Here’s a Little Sneak Peek of United Shades of America with W. Kamau Bell Season 6

The Emmy award winning docu-series United Shades of America with W. Kamau Bell is returning for its sixth season on CNN this Sunday, July 19th at 10PM. For years, W. Kamau Bell has gone and explored “race based subcultures” with this series and has done plenty to expose race relations in this country (including when he chatted with a KKK Imperial Wizard in full robes).

So, it’s safe to say that, at this moment in America and around the world, that Bell’s series, which was already pretty crucial, has become even more crucial as the entire globe is truly reckoning with systemic racism and oppression at every level (as opposed to a few weeks as has been the case in the past).

Here’s a bit of sneak peek of what’s to come with the season 6 premiere of United Shades of America that dives right into what white supremacy really is.

While not making it to the live broadcast, the Creative Arts Emmys gain more importance and distinction every year as the TV landscape continues to drastically change.

So, we’re glad to see things like Full Frontal With Samantha Bee Presents Not The White House Correspondents’ Dinner and United Shades of America with W. Kamau Bell score Primetime Emmys wins here. Also, Bob’s Burgers getting their first Emmys win deserves a round of applause.

Not quite sure what will top talking to a KKK member on camera as W. Kamau Bell for season 1 of his exploratory comedy docu-series, but we have no doubt that Kamau will figure it out.

It’s about time that W. Kamau Bell picked up where he left off with Totally Biased and continue to explore the various subcultures of discrimination that are around this great country of ours.

He’ll be doing just that with his brand new series on CNN, United Shades of America, premiering tonight at 10PM.

W. Kamau Bell Has His CNN Series and a Showtime Special Premiering This Month

Clear out 10PM on both April 24th and April 29th.

Next week will be a big one for W. Kamau Bell as his brand new exploratory series of discriminatory subcultures, United Shades of America, and a brand new Morgan Spurlock directed comedy special, Semi-Prominent Negro, are both premiering.

More specifically…

United Shades of America will premiere on CNN on Sunday, April 24th at 10PM
Semi-Prominent Negro will premiere on Showtime on Friday, April 29th at 10PM

Bell’s last series, Totally Biased on FX/FXx, came to an end far too early (especially with the popularity of shows like Full Frontal and Last Week Tonight) and both his new show and special should be well worth catching.

For all the missing plane coverage and everything else CNN has been mocked for by the likes of The Daily Show and more, W. Kamau Bell is set to bring some more balance to the network in tone and perspective with his new show United Shades of America.

His exploration of the subcultures of the good ol’ U.S. of A has got a premiere date, Apr. 24th. So make a reminder on your phone (or mark your calendars if you still do that).

W. Kamau Bell is finally returning to TV to do what he was doing before he was on TV: touring the country to talk to the people, wherever they may be, about the issues that are affecting them all under the umbrella of comedy.

CNN has announced their upcoming programming slate and on it is United Shades of America that will be hosted by W. Kamau Bell. Bell will go far and wide across the land and get into whatever subcultures he can. This is sort of what Kamau was doing on his Laughter Against the Machine tour before he got to host the far-too-short-lived Totally Biased at FX/FXx.

For once, it’ll be nice to see a show on CNN probably not end up on The Daily Show to be poked fun at.
