The Series Finale of “The League” Is Tonight

December 10, 2015

fxx, series finale, the league

After 7 seasons of rambunctious fantasy sports between friends that we’re, at times, probably too close, The League is coming to a close.

The series finale airs tonight at 10PM on FXx. So, take a break from your actual fantasy sports league and watch what is likely the most famous fictional fantasy sports league.

We help but think that both this and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia reaching their ends is signaling the end of an era at FXx and the rise of Stephen Falk is the signaling of a new one.

Get for a hour comedy block of functionally really dysfunctional relationships on FXx.

While the branding isn’t still entirely clear, FX’s FXx looks like it’ll have a great hour of comedy during the week with two of its lauded shows.

Be sure to set your calendar or DVR or just be sure to watch it online after that.

Good News & Bad News @theleaguefxx is coming back for one last season. #7Years2Networks549DickJokes

December 8, 2014

It’s impressive to see any comedy series making it to seven seasons these days. It’s even more impressive to see one that centers on a fantasy football league like The League has just done.

They’re getting a seventh and final season at FXx, which is news perfectly punctuated by Paul Scheer’s hashtag #7Years2Networks549DickJokes.

Watch Paul Scheer and Nadine Velazquez on Mexican Late Night Talk Show “Noches Con Platanito”

From 11:20-25:23 of this episode of Estrella TV’s Noches Con Platanito’s, which is, from what we can gather, a Mexican version of The Tonight Show with a host dressed up as a clown the entire time, Paul Scheer and Nadine Velazquez from The League were guests.

While Nadine speaks Spanish, Paul really doesn’t and they didn’t give him a translator. Also, apparently, they get away with a whole lot more bizarre, crazy stuff on Mexican late night than they do on American late night.

Also, you get to see Paul give an inspired lipsyncing performance of “Let It Go” from Frozen.

Watch it all here.

Just note that even though you’ll probably be watching FXx anyway for The Simpsons marathon starting near the end of next month.

Steve Rannazzisi First Hour Stand Up Special ‘Manchild’ Premiering Next Week on Comedy Central

Many of you might know Steve Rannazzisi from The League on FXx, but he’s also a great stand-up comedian as well. That’s why you should check out his very first hour long stand up special ‘Manchild’ next week on Comedy Central, and, if you really like it, drop $5 to buy the extended and uncut version.

Knowing how well Steve channels his anger in his stand up, it might be worth it to spend 5 clams.

Road rage comes with the territory of living in Los Angeles, especially if you’re anywhere in or around Mulholland Dr.

Stephen Rannassizi illustrates this very phenomenon while on Conan to a T, especially as Conan gave him a diagram complete with toy cars to give the full picture to us all. Watch it here.
