Reservation Dogs Season 3 Trailer Promises More of What Everyone Loves About Reservation Dogs

Finally, in less than a month, Sterlin Harjo and Taika Waititi are returning with the third season of Reservation Dogs starting Wed. Aug. 2nd. This latest round of their critically acclaimed and award winning FX series follows the eponymous Reservation Dogs finding themselves yet again, though, back at where their started (not to tip the hat to those who haven’t binged their way through the first two seasons already).

From the looks of this first official trailer for this latest season, more of the magically real, offbeat indigenous humor and captivating pathos are on display, so much so that it might actually make up for the bad taste that Taika’s latest Thor movie has left in our mouths.

See for yourself with a first full length at season 3 here and try and see if there’s something to FX focusing on the name “Bear”. Again, look for this latest season of Reservation Dogs to get going on Aug. 2nd.

Reservation Dogs Season 2 Trailer Promises a More Than Worthy Follow-Up

Sterlin Harjo & Taika Waititi’s dramedy, Reservation Dogs, set on a reservation in Oklahoma captured the hearts and minds of so many and shone a much needed and very human light on modern day life “on the res”, especially during those teen years. With plenty of acclaim and awards that came with the series’ first run, there is almost endless amounts of anticipation for season 2 following the journeys of Elora Danan, Bear, Willie Jack, Cheese, and all of their friends, families, and enemies.

The official trailer for season 2 of Reservation Dogs dropped yesterday and it seems to hit a sweet spot of grounded absurdity and pathos, maybe even more emphatically than season 1. Elora Danan continues her perhaps impossible quest for the promise land of California, Bear wrestles with adulthood having no manual, and there’s a much better indigenous version of a Zoltar-machine. Give it a watch and see for yourself here, then look for its premiere on FX/Hulu on Wed. Aug. 3rd.

Get Your First Look at Sterlin Harjo and Taika Waititi’s “Reservation Dogs”

The return of the film festival circuit has kicked up such a dust that one might have overlooked the very first glimpse of a brand new comedy, Reservation Dogs (yes, they do their own take on the iconic walk in Reservoir Dogs), that charmingly takes on what life is for indigenous Gen Z kids on the reservation.

Coming from the minds of Sterlin Harjo and Taika Waititi, the trailer has the sort of promise that keeps FX’s track record for original comedies pretty damn good (Atlanta, What We Do In The Shadows). You can sense Waititi’s touch (maybe a bit akin to Hunt for the Wilderpeople) in a world that isn’t quite seen a lot, especially from the perspective of indigenous people. Above all, Reservation Dogs looks like a good bunch of a fun with a lovable crew of misfits.

See for yourself in the Reservation Dogs trailer here, then look for it to start streaming on Aug. 9th on Hulu.

FX’s Orders Latest Series “Reservation Dogs” from Sterlin Harjo and Taika Waititi

FX has been near flawless with their comedy programming over the last several years. Better Things, Atlanta, and What We Do In The Shadows all serve as critical and commercial hits for the network (often getting nominated or winning Emmys and the like). They don’t look to stop their streak any time soon as the cabler just picked up what we suspect will be golden nugget for them in Reservation Dogs, a series following the lives of Indigenous kids in Oklahoma causing trouble (and also fixing it), from the minds of Sterlin Harjo and Taika Waititi.

The series will draw from Harjo’s childhood, but we’re sure Waititi’s trademark subversive cleverness will be well woven into the show.   Waititi, of course, is one of the minds behind the aforementioned What We Do In The Shadows (as well as JoJo Rabbit and Hunt For the Wilderpeople), and collaborated with Harjo on the pilot for FX. It’s intriguing as both Harjo and Waititi come from indigenous backgrounds, though from different sides of the planet.

With all of this in mind, we can’t wait to see what the show really is and hope that it’s timed out so it airs in between seasons of What We Do In The Shadows.
