(via Deadline)

A sitcom centered bringing Bill Cosby back to NBC has been in negotiations for months now, but a deal between NBC and Sony TV has now the project apparently set on track currently with a script commitment.

Cosby will be the patriarch of an extended family and pass down his wisdom to them, one of which will be Mike O’Malley. Sony Wants There to Be a ‘Community’ Movie

Having pulled off getting a sixth season for Community right before the contract expiration deadline for the cast, Sony TV is aiming to make a movie and not be the ones to deny the #sixseasonsandamovie movement.

The talks are preliminary, but Community keeps defying the odds that, at this point, they could just make a movie about how the show made it this far.
