If you are feeling like you’re missing new episodes of BoJack Horseman in your life or if you’re looking for stories about love, warts and all (figuratively and kind of literally), then you’ll want to go and pick up Raphael Bob-Waksberg’s latest work, a collection of short stories gloriously entitled Someone Who Will Love You In All Your Damaged Glory: Stories.

Once again, the BoJack Horseman creator balances emotional complexity in magically real, ridiculous scenarios such as trying to break tradition in planning a pagan wedding to beautifully comic effect in a handful of love stories (well, the sort of dark-tragically comedic love story that is Bob-Waksberg’s bread and butter).

So, go get Someone Who Will Love You In All Your Damaged Glory: Stories, available in hardcover, on Kindle, and as an audiobook now.

The title of the book/semi-graphic novel “I love you; I’m sorry: (A graphic semi graphic novel about love)” is enough for us to get on board, but knowing that its author is the wonderful and hilarious, currently Portland-based Barbara Holm makes  us more than on board for getting and reading it very soon.

It’s a collection of short stories on love and loss from the person who managed to create an endearing story and make it work for the very explicit Competitive Erotic Fan Fiction.

It would be hard to imagine that a collection of short stories from the mind of the one ever-gregarious Tom Hanks wouldn’t have a bit of humor of in it, if not a whole row of funny stories.

Not that there is any evidence that he’d write about such experiences as taking a picture with a fan who pretended to be passed out at a diner or perhaps a first person account from the point-of-view of Wilson, but that wouldn’t be out of the realm of possibility, considering how obsessed with the magic of typing on vintage typewriters.

He is setting to write an entire book of short stories soon and we’ll see exactly what Hanks has coming through that typewriter ribbon.

It’s now available and you should pick it up in hardcover and/or in audiobook, which, if you’ve heard this story of Novak’s prank at a museum as a kid, should be more enticing.
