Over the last couple of a months, there has been tension from North Korea over Sony PIctures’ The Interview starring Seth Rogen and James Franco.

Yesterday, a red band trailer was posted that gives us all a better picture of what North Korea is getting so steamed over as well as the duo, reminiscent of when they teamed up in Pineapple Express, that Rogen and Franco are playing that are tasked with assassinating Kim Jong-Un.

So, maybe they don’t like all the rampant sexual innuendo?

The likes of Ben Schwartz, Adam McKay, and Seth Rogen are teaming up on an upcoming untitled feature that was pitched by Schwartz. McKay is attached to direct and produce while Rogen is attached to star and also produce.

There’s no synopsis, premise, or logline, but, already, we have the feeling that this project might, at the end of it, have a giant blooper reel or even an alternate uncut version.

With some luck, we’ll get to see Rubberhead somewhere soon.

Sony Changing Military Uniform Buttons and, Possibly, Face Melting in ‘The Interview’

(NOTE: Spoilers possibly ahead) The Interview starring James Franco and Seth Rogen has been a hot button movie for Sony ever since it was first announced. Being fiercely decried by North Korea for its plot that follows the assassination of Kim Jong-Un, Sony has already moved back the release date to Christmas from October.

Now, they will be altering uniform buttons that the depicted North Korean military wears as well as thinking about changing a scene where Kim Jong-Un’s face is melted off.

Some of the reasoning behind these changes have been cited as “clearance issues” rather than political pressure, but who gets clearance from a military and a leader of a country that keeps contact with the U.S. to a minimum? Have higher-ups in North Korea have not seen the multitudes of web videos satirizing North Korea in a similar way?

More importantly, would North Korea really try to start a war over a movie?

While Lizzy Caplan is exploring her more dramatic side on Showtime‘s Masters of Sex, Caplan will be doing her next comedy project with the trio who worked on the great cancer comedy 50/50, Seth Rogen, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and director Jonathan Levine.

It’s a comedy set at Christmas time, but there are no details as of yet if it will come to theaters during one Christmas or another in the not so distant future. Luckily, The Interview with Seth Rogen is coming this Christmas and we’ll have that to hold us over.

The Interview with Seth Rogen and James Franco Moved to Christmas Release Date

Despite North Korea’s protestations against the movie’s subject matter that focuses on killing Kim Jong-Un, Sony is moving the release of The Interview starring Seth Rogen and James Franco back to a bigger release date, Christmas.

Originally, the movie was slated for release in early October, but Sony is lining up its Christmas weekend offering for The Interview, where it’ll play against the third installment of The Hobbit franchise and more.

This will also give North Korea two more months to further decry the movie, though we’re not sure how much more they could say outside of an “act of terrorism”.

North Korea Is Calling ‘The Interview’ An Act of Terrorism

North Korea Is Calling ‘The Interview’ An Act of Terrorism

North Korea continues to be outraged about the upcoming spy assassination comedy The Interview with Seth Rogen and James Franco. In fact, they’ve gone so far as to call it “an act of terrorism” and “a war action”.

We think that’s a bit of stretch, but, apparently, “If the U.S. administration connives at and patronizes the screening of the film, it will invite a strong and merciless countermeasure,” according to a North Korea’s Foreign Ministry spokesman.

Well, if that strong and merciless countermeasure is a film where they go after Obama, it would be interesting to see where they will find a black actor in North Korea.

North Korea Isn’t Happy With Seth Rogen-James Franco Comedy ‘The Interview’

North Korea Isn’t Happy With Seth Rogen-James Franco Comedy ‘The Interview’

The subject of the spy comedy farce, North Korea, is not amused by the fictionalized attempt by characters played by James Franco and Seth Rogen to attempt to assassinate Kim Jong-un in The Interview. That’s what Kim Myong-choi, executive director for the Centre of North Korea-U.S. Peace, which we had no idea was a thing that existed, thinks anyway.
Still, Kim Jong-un reportedly plans on seeing it anyway. Myong-choi also added the dig “that James Bond movies are better than Hollywood films.”
Perhaps, North Korea will make a movie in response in a sort of “filmic cold war” and this all becomes something that Armando Iannucci fictionalizes?

Watch James Franco and Seth Rogen as Spies in Teaser Trailer for The Interview

Seth Rogen and James Franco team up yet again for an action packed comedy in The Interview coming out in October. This time, they’re not taking on drug cartels or the Apocalypse against all odds, but rather North Korea, also against all odds.

Rogen and Franco play spies who are attempting to take out North Korea’s Kim Jong Un which you can see here in the trailer.

This has us wondering if Franco and Rogen, as an action duo, will ever cross paths with the other popular action comedy duo right now, Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill.

Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg’s Animated Comedy ‘Sausage Party’ Sets Cast/Gets Release Date

Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are moving forward with their latest animated project, Sausage Party, that will indeed follow the adventures of a sausage and his search for meaning. In addition to Rogen, the voices of Kristen Wiig, Salma Hayek, Edward Norton, James Franco, Jonah Hill, Craig Robinson, Bill Hader, Paul Rudd and Danny McBride will be featured in the movie as well.
We haven’t heard any changes otherwise, so Sausage Party will be an R-rated animated comedy, which will be something we haven’t seen in quite some time. It’s set for a June 3rd, 2016 release.

Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg to Adapt “Console Wars” Based on Nintendo vs. Sega

A movie following the all out PR fight between Nintendo and Sega, which got to a point comparable to political mudslinging, is already interesting enough.

What will be more interesting is that the filmmaking team of Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are currently attach to adapt the book Console Wars chronicling the face-off between the two biggest video game consoles of the 90s.

Based off of everything else they’ve done and the tone of the book, this might have a more dramatic bent than the rest of Rogen/Goldberg’s filmography.

Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg to Receive CinemaCon Filmmakers Award

Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg indeed will be named Comedy Filmmakers of The Year at the 2014 CinemaCon. Before they accept the award, perhaps CinemaCon will play the clip from one of their most successful films to date This Is The End where a demon penis gets cut off.

From School of Rock, Jack Black and writer Mike White are getting together again for HS reunion comedy D-Train and, from 50/50, Seth Rogen, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and director Jonathan Levine are also coming together for another project a Christmas themed comedy, which will probably be a little grittier than your normal fare based off of 50/50.

Still, both projects from both “reteams” definitely sound enticing to us and, if you haven’t already, you should watch 50/50 and School of Rock. Familiarize yourself and enjoy two solid movies.

Scott Rudin Productions Teams With Seth Rogen And Evan Goldberg Starring Cast of Workaholics

Though we’re sure producer Scott Rudin will bring a touch of panaché to this movie, we can only imagine the shenanigans that Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, the cast of Workaholics, and the guys behind Workaholics will come up with.

We’re pretty sure there will be a red band trailer for this.

Bill Murray Joins ‘B.O.O.’ at Dreamworks

An animated supernatural action comedy will now have Bill Murray joining the likes of Seth Rogen, Rashida Jones, Jennifer Coolidge, Melissa McCarthy, and more.

Let’s hope that this isn’t another star studded cast doing a summer family movie that ends up being just for kids.

Lizzy Caplan to Joining Seth Rogen and James Franco in ‘The Interview’

So, of course, the North Korean political intrigue comedy by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg starring James Franco and Rogen involves a talk show host and their producer and will now feature the delightful Lizzy Caplan.

Well, we’re already wanting to see this in theaters without a trailer.

Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg Set to Do R-Rated Animated Feature ‘Sausage Party’ for Sony

Obviously, Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg have wanted to do an adult animated comedy where they anthropomorphize a sausage for a long time, but just waited until they had the success of something like This Is The End to shop it around town.

They’re calling ‘Sausage Party’ and presumably will be dick joke free, right?

Comedy Central’s The Roast of James Franco finally aired last night and we were happy to see the dais as friends, especially when it came to Bill Hader playing the President of Hollywood or Nick Kroll pondering who Evan Goldberg, Seth Rogen’s writing partner, exactly is.

FX Orders Seth Rogen-Produced ‘Bigfoot’ Animated Comedy Pilot

After the success of This Is The End, we’ve all been wondering what’s next for Seth Rogen behind the camera and it turns out an animated series on Bigfoot over at the soon to be launched FXx is what’s in store.

The details of the show aren’t completely outlined yet, but we would think that a Rogen voiced Bigfoot would seem fitting.

Seth Rogen To Go From Apocalypse Comedy to Assassination Plot Comedy in North Korea

Following his directorial debut of This Is The End, Seth Rogen already has his next project lined up involving taking down the leader of North Korea. Maybe Rogen may have started cutting a niche for himself as a director with action comedy with more emphasis on the comedy.
