Please Enjoy Demi Adejuyigbe’s Mischievous Cupid Music Video for Eric Slick’s “Over It”

In a time where dating and romance have been vastly limited due to lockdown/social distancing/etc., a world where there was a real life Cupid might be nice.

That said, a real life Cupid might be more bent on mischief than one might initially think and the effects of Cupid arrow might be a little more fleeting than in the fairy tales. That’s how comedy multi-hyphenate Demi Adejuyigbe imagines his version of Cupid for the music video for Eric Slick’s latest single “Over It” (that just happens to include so many fun comedy folks including Ayo Edebiri, Lou Wilson, Kate Comer, Natalie Morales, Mike Cabellon, Ify Nwadiwe, Gabriel Gundacker, Mia Vicino, Ben Cahn, Addie Weyrich, and Nick Kocher).

Though the video takes place in a world that isn’t going through a pandemic, the end of the video feels pretty cathartic for everything we’re going through right now. Please enjoy it here.

Pick of the Day: Don’t Laugh at Aaron

March 9, 2020
News
experimental comedy, nick kocher

Essentially, accomplished and esteemed writer, sketch performer, and comedian Nick Kocher is daring you to see if you can make it through the length of an entire live comedy show without laughing? The irony of daring people to not laugh at any comedy show is so rich that we can’t help already giggle at the idea of it.

Kocher is upping the stakes by letting his friend Aaron Schroeder (who is explicitly not a comedian) take the stage and just share his life, which is amazingly ridiculous (and very hard to not laugh at). We’re not sure what the prize is at this point, but you really ought to see what your limits of controlling your own laughter/seeing Aaron be his truest self and basking in the wonder of that.

We actually got to see a test run of this at Everything’s Great, which Nick co-hosts, and pretty much everyone failed to not laugh.

Tickets for Don’t Laugh at Aaron are $7 and you can should go get them here.

The duo of Brian McElhaney and Nick Kocher, often known better as BriTANick have produced some of the best, most ridiculous sketches/short films (see 2011′s Eagles Are Turning People Into Horses) over the years. Their success has led them to being quite busy writing at SNL, performing all over the place, etc.

Thus, morsels from BriTANick only come around every now and again, but they are sure delectably funny whenever they come around. So, with all of that in mind, please enjoy BriTANick’s latest Dating App Writers Room here.

‘SNL’ Hires Seven New Writers for Season 42

Zack Bornstein, Anna Drezen, BriTANick (Brian McElhaney and Nick Kocher), Joanna Bradley, Julio Torres, and Kristen Bartlett will be the seven new writers for season 42 of SNL.

With this new row of writers, we hope, based on their previous works including Reductress and any Britanick sketch that SNL gets weirder and more feminist.

Yep, Brian McElhaney and Nick Kocher, better known as BriTANick, are back.

Here’s their latest sketch, which has cameos from Stephen Root and John Milheiser. By the way, by “it”, we mean get exquitely, really absurd, then go even further than that.
