While many television networks are looking for their next big sketch comedy hit series, we want to let everyone know once again that Conan and Team Coco are still making some of the best sketches around.
Case in point: this World Series sketch that begs the question, “Does the Boliviguay government disavow the World Baseball Classic due to their stance on sandwiches?”

Will Ferrell’s HBO comedy sports special wherein he played 10 different positions on one day of the MLB’s Cactus League premieres tonight.
In case you were wondering, here’s what Will was thinking in the middle of his 10 team/position stretch.

Though he’s only played in the Cactus League once, the ten different positions that Will Ferrell took on for his upcoming HBO comedy sports special Ferrell Takes the Field scored him a bronze plaque from the MLB Hall of Fame.
It’s unclear whether the plaque will be on display at Cooperstown, NY in the actual Baseball Hall of Fame, but it’s probably very likely that his achievement will never be matched again, especially by someone who wasn’t a pro athlete to begin with.
The full trailer for Ferrell Takes The Field shows Will Ferrell grace the diamond in all 10 different uniforms while delivering a Ferrell-style speech at a real MLB spring training game rather than in a sports movie. You’ll notice, as Letterman noted earlier this year, Will does look pretty slick in a MLB uniform.

This weekend, they had 7 Days in Hell with Andy Samberg and Kit Harrington and in a couple months, they’ll have their very next comedy sports special, Ferrell Takes the Field.
Earlier this year, Will Ferrell played 10 positions on 10 different teams over the course of one day of MLB Spring Training and from the looks of this teaser, it has all the promise of a 47 year old Ferrell mixing it up in the big leagues.

While you’re looking forward to perhaps getting a Will Ferrell baseball card, you can also look forward to an entire special of Will Ferrell playing as many positions on as many MLB teams as he can during MLB Spring Training.
“Ferrell Takes The Field” will premiere on HBO Sat. Sept. 12th at 10PM and will be the second in line of comedy sports specials at the premium cable network.
If 7 Days in Hell goes well in July and Ferrell Takes The Field does the same in September, maybe HBO will do a parody of all those boxing docu-series that they do?
As part of the charity event that Will did during MLB Spring Training, Will Ferrell will now be on a set of Topps Baseball Cards commemorating all 10 positions that he played that day.
That includes ones for Oakland A’s, Mariners, The Angels, Cubs, Diamondbacks, Cincinnati Reds, Black Sox, Padres, Dodgers, and Giants.

Will Ferrell will to attempt to play several positions at several different Major League Baseball spring training fields in Arizona over the course of one day. The result will be a HBO special that Funny or Die and the MLB have partnered for in dedication to organizations fighting against cancer.
#FerrellTakesTheField will be the hashtag to follow how Ferrell will pull off doing this, which we’re guessing he will do in a similar fashion to the time he beat Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith in a drum off.
Ferrell will probably have the record for most stunts in support of charity very soon.
