Get the Real Story of the Empire that Lucy & Desi Built with Lucy and Desi (Trailer)

Nicole Kidman, Javier Bardem, and Aaron Sorkin have made a lot of noise with their biopic, Being the Ricardos. That said, no amount of painstaking detail in a biopic that can tell as much truth as in-depth documentary.

That’s why Amy Poehler’s upcoming documentary Lucy and Desi will undoubtedly be required viewing. Poehler will dive into one of Hollywood’s first power couples as well as their production company, Desilu Productions and Lucille having to deal with being labeled as a communist and more. Intimate audio tapes and home movies are spliced in with classic footage of I Love Lucy and the expected abundance of interviews from many comedy folks, both contemporaries and those who she inspired.

Look for Lucy and Desi to drop on Amazon Prime on Mar. 4th. In the meantime, see all of this for yourself in the trailer here.

We can’t stop imagine the marriage of Sorkin style monologue and Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz. Also, you’ve got to be the least bit curious how Blanchett will transform herself into Lucy.

This is definitely another big get for Amazon.

New ‘Lucy’ Bronze Sculpture in Lucille Ball’s Hometown Captures the Lucy Everyone Knows and Love

As denizens of the Internet, you might be aware of a certain bronze likeness of comedy legend Lucille Ball in her New York hometown of Celeron referred to as ‘Scary Lucy’.

Since that’s been the case for years, a new bronze statue of Lucille Ball was commissioned and sculptor Carolyn Palmer just unveiled it this week.

You’ll agree, after getting a glimpse of it, that it’s a far cry from any sort of ‘scary’ description and much more fitting of the star of I Love Lucy.

It’s almost like they’re playing Oscar hopeful Madlibs.

Aaron Sorkin is now setting his sights on writing a movie following the life of Lucille Ball behind the legendary TV series I Love Lucy.

This movie already has us fondly imagining what Cate as Lucille will look like as well as what Sorkin-esque speeches Lucille Ball will be giving juxtaposed with the playful fights on I Love Lucy.
