This is not some dumb alt comedy stunt. I. Want. To. Be. @KellyRipa ’s. Sidekick. For. Real. So. Bad. Dream job. #KellyAndGethard

Since the very sudden and public departure of Michael Strahan from Live! with Kelly and MIchael, there has been a void in the realm of morning television programming. There are rumors of names of who might sit beside Kelly Ripa going forward.

One of the more surprising names is Chris Gethard, host of the forward thinking talk show The Chris Gethard Show. Chris has opted to toss his own name in the hat for consideration.

In fact, earlier this week, Gethard typed out and posted the following in order to make his case to be a sidekick to Kelly Ripa.

*probably should say “now married”

No word has been given about where Gethard stands in the running to replace Strahan or how this would affect The Chris Gethard Show if he got the gig, but #KellyandGethard would likely bring a bunch of generations together that wouldn’t otherwise watch the same morning TV.

Michael Strahan suddenly leaving Live with Kelly and Michael for Good Morning America has summoned the great rage of Lewis Black.

It also has Black “auditioning” to replace him, which is pretty priceless.

Watch it all here.
