One such show, TruTV’s Comedy Knockout, returns tonight at 11PM. Here’s a taste of what’s to come with Clayton English, Noah Gardenswartz, and Jessimae Peluso.

Seeso taped a bunch of Wyatt Cenac’s great weekly show in NYC, Night Train, and made into a series that they’ll start streaming at the end of this month at Thursday, June 30th.

In Comedy Knockout, which will likely be TruTV’s more rough and tumble, roast-y version of @midnight, three comedians will come up with best burns for both various challenges and each other. Host Damien Lemon manages the chaos that ensues.
The competitive comedy series premieres tomorrow night at 10PM on TruTV, but you can see it in action with Sean Patton, Chris DiStefano, and Arden Myrin in the hot seats in these previews.

Where the challenges on the earlier seasons of Last Comic Standing didn’t work, maybe they’ll work on Comedy Knockout.
TruTV rebranding as a comedy network has seemingly fared quite well for them and, as such, they’re headed further in that direction. Their latest series order is for a stand-up competition show featuring head-to-head comedy challenges.
NYC comedian Damien Lemon is set to host and a fair amount of roasting is being touted as well.
With Roast Battle’s popularity have spread beyond LA, don’t be surprised to see more of this sort of show pop up on TV more and more.

As MTV is bringing another wave of comedy to their networks, they are doing their version of a comedically bent news show.
Damien Lemon, Matthew Broussard, Dave Ebert, and the Internet’s Julia Kelly will be fabricating news stories off of the randomness of the Internet for MTV2′s latest show Not Exactly News. So, we’re guessing that it’s a cross between @midnight and SNL’s Weekend Update?
Will there be wars between various unlikely animal friends? Will there be a giant hamster eating a giant burrito?
Guess we’ll find out when the show premieres Jun. 17th at 11:30PM.
