Basically, this is probably somewhere between Comedy Bang! Bang! and Shark Tank that actually awards $1000 grants to one lucky entrepreneur.

More specifically:
The Awesome Foundation is a worldwide network of people devoted to forwarding the interest of awesomeness in the universe. The Foundation distributes a series of monthly $1,000 grants to projects and their creators. The money is pooled together from the coffers of our self-organizing “micro-trustees” and given upfront in cash, check, or gold doubloons (but never actually in gold doubloons).

Matt Walsh, Scot Armstrong, Andy Richter, Brad Morris, Allison Raskin, and Jamie Denbo will make up the special panel for this Awesome Foundation Comedy Show.

Tickets are $25 and you can (and should) get them here. Also, you can get a VIP ticket that includes a meet-and-greet with Matt Walsh and Scot Armstrong before the show and a premium seat for $200.

Here’s an opportunity to take a break from speaking out at actual town halls and enjoy a fake “American Town Hall” next week where all you need to do is laugh at “citizen speakers” from Newport, RI.

It’s $5 at the door and the ticket sales go to ACLU, so you’re still doing a good thing by going.
