Yesterday, Jenny Lewis and Mikal Cronin released their music videos for “She’s Not Me” and “Say”, respectively, that offer more evidence that music videos are on their way back and are more than just bands in different clothes playing in front of different back drops.

In Lewis’ She’s Not Me, Vanessa Bayer, Zosia Mamet, Fred Armisen, and more semi-recreate Jenny’s past as a former child actress.

Mikal Cronin enlists the help of Kurt Braunohler, Jonah Ray, Allan McLeod, Nick Thune, and Nelson Franklin to be in his video for Say, though he may have spoke too soon (pun absolutely intended).

Along with JASH’s 5K music video series and any music video Tom Scharpling directs, maybe we don’t need MTV to play music videos ever again.
