We wish this sort of thing happened more often: comedians recording specials/albums at comedy festivals. For a good portion of the time, the crowds are really thrilled to be at an entire festival of comedy, especially at the taping of a hysterical comedian they know and love.

Luckily, Brendon Walsh is doing exactly this on October 12th during the San Francisco Comedy & Burrito Festival, which you should just go to anyway.

One of LA’s favorite indie/art house theaters, The Sunset 5, will be back this Fri. Aug. 31st under the umbrella of Robert Redford’s Sundance Institute. Known for screening some of the great indie comedies that didn’t have the budget to get distribution elsewhere in LA or along some national chain, we’re glad that it’ll be back very soon.

Scheduled to screen there this Fri. are Marjane Satrapi’s (Persepolis) Chicken with Plums & raved about Robot & Frank.
