Finally, the Kevin Can F**K Himself Trailer Is Here

Ever since we heard about the initial development of Kevin Can F**k Himself from Valerie Armstrong, Rashida Jones, and Will McCormack, which seems like decades ago at this point, we were so enthusiastically and completely on board. A satirical meta series about the stock multi-cam sitcom wife gaining her own agency and doing something about the hellish nightmare she has been stuck in with a slacker, overweight, dismissive, yet “lovable” husband? It’s like our subconscious, and, very likely, the subconscious of many who are sick of schlocky formulaic family sitcoms are finally getting realized.

As far as we can see, this is a much needed response to the plethora of outdated multi-cams where wives were one-dimensional and always way out of the league of their husbands (just check out most Kevin James led sitcoms).

Having Schitt’s Creek’s Annie Murphy take on the lead role had us even more excited for what was to come for the show destined for AMC. Now, we all finally get a first look at what’s in store for us all with the first official trailer for KEVIN CAN F**K HIMSELF that just dropped today.

Getting tinges of Promising Young Woman and Groundhog Day and we’re still very much all in for it. Look for KEVIN CAN F**K HIMSELF this Summer on AMC.

So, a Show Called “Kevin Can F*** Himself” by Valerie Armstong with Rashida Jones/Will McCormack EP’ing Is in Development at AMC

Just off the name alone and it’s obvious middle-finger-esque reference to the Kevin James starrer Kevin Can Wait, we want this to get a greenlight and see what this will be.

Also, we’re fascinated by the prospect of that revelatory scene from Louie where they break the fourth wall on a hacky multi cam sitcom in the cold opening of the show being upgraded by Valerie Armstrong to following the perspective of the “sitcom wife” as a real person.

We haven’t been this excited by a mere show premise in quite a long time. So, order it to series already, AMC.

Between writing Toy Story 4 and Angie Tribeca, Rashida and Will have found some time to work on another TV show.

Indeed, both writing partners Jones and McCormack are quite busy on projects outside of them creating TV shows, but that hasn’t stopped from bringing a new comedy focusing on best friends, one which is fixated on the idea that she’s dying and the other one having to put up with it, to NBC. Matt Zinman and Craig Gerard, veterans of How I Met Your Mother, are attached as writers.

We’ll be curious to see if there are any echoes of Me and Earl and The Dying Girl that come up here.

Celeste and Jesse Forever with a different ending as a Toy Story sequel?

The fourth installment of Pixar’s Toy Story franchise will bring back Bo Peep as a love interest for Woody and subsequently explore their romance. With Rashida Jones and Will McCormack penning the script, don’t doubt how much this new Toy Story movie might tug at your heart strings, no matter what age you are.

Certainly, it’ll probably go into less dark territory than Toy Story 3.

One of Pixar’s most successful, most beloved properties, Toy Story, is coming back for a fourth round in 2017.

Announced today, a Toy Story 4 will have John Lasseter returning to the franchise as a director and the duo of Rashida Jones and Will McCormack are set to write the script. More specifically, the release is being targeted for June 2017.

In case you wondering, that does avoid any matching up with Marvel’s upcoming film slate as well as the Lego Movie sequel.
