Joan Rivers Facing WGA Expulsion Hearing Over ‘Fashion Police’ Next Month

While the writers of Fashion Police are still technically on strike, little news has come for them making headway in receiving their unpaid wages. However, showrunner Joan Rivers could face expulsion and more in an upcoming WGA East hearing for violating WGA regulations regarding working on Non-WGA sanctioned shows. 

Either way the hearing goes will be a precedent set for being a staff writer on certain shows.

WGA East Charges Joan Rivers With Violation in ‘Fashion Police’ Writers Dispute

A WGA East council took a vote and determined to send violation charges to Joan Rivers over the Fashion Police Writers’ Strike. According to Rivers’ manager, the issue is between the writers and E!, which has been one of the only remarks sent down from Rivers in regards to the whole matter. 
The writers of Fashion Police are still on strike and developments towards a resolution are still to be seen.

Writers of ‘Fashion Police’ on E!, Many of Whom Are Hilarious Comedians, File Claim Over Unpaid Wages

In case you didn’t know the likes of Eliza Skinner and Bryan Cook, they are two really funny people whose comedic exploits you should definitely be following. With that in mind, they should, as writers on E!’s Fashion Police, also get paid for many hours of overtime if they have not been properly compensated. 

This is cautionary tale to all those writers/comedians/etc. going for a comedy writing job in making sure to not be taken advantage of.
