Adam and Aaron Nee’s modern take on the Mark Twain universe occupied by Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer, Band of Robbers, finally comes out Fri. Jan. 15th in a handful of theaters and on demand.

If you get the chance, you should really catch it. Band of Robbers reminds us of how spirited and fun heist films can be and how to faithfully translate Twain to the 21st century. It also has a pretty fantastic round of performances to boot from Adam Nee, Kyle Gallner, Hannibal Buress, Matthew Gray Gubler, Melissa Benoist, Johnny Pemberton, Eric Christian Olsen and Stephen Lang.

If you want to catch it on the big screen, here are the theaters Band of Robbers will be screening at starting tomorrow:

ATLANTA – PLAZA THEATER
BOSTON – APPLE CINEMAS
CHICAGO – GENE SISKEL FILM CENTER
CLEVELAND – TOWER CITY CINEMAS
LOS ANGELES – LAEMMLE PLAYHOUSE 7
MINNEAPOLIS – THEATRES AT MALL OF AMERICA
NEW YORK CITY – AMC EMPIRE 25
ORLANDO – AMC ALTAMONTE MALL 18
SAN FRANCISCO – THE ROXIE
SEATTLE – THE VARSITY THEATRE TORONTO (CANADA) – CARLTON CINEMA

Combining what could be a fun Goonies-ish heist film and the modern day equivalents of Mark Twain’s legendary characters Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn, Band of Robbers looks promising as an indie comedy, a niche genre that’s slowly becoming synonymous with dramedy.

Writer/director duo Adam Nee and Aaron Nee bring Matthew Gray Gubler, Kyle Gallner, Hannibal Buress, Johnny Pemberton, and more to pull this off.

Watch the teaser here and then maybe, if you can, catch at The LA Film Festival on Jun. 13th.
