Coen Brothers’ “Hail, Caesar!” To Be a Musical Comedy, Sort Of

This might be more ambitious than what they did with O Brother, Where Art Thou?

The Coen Brothers’ upcoming “Hail, Caesar!” will follow a day in the life of a studio “fixer” in 1950s Hollywood and will also include going in between many productions and their various musical numbers. The actual main story won’t be a musical, but will have several different musicals within in it. 

The problems that the “fixer” is there to see will apparently be serious, but the juxtaposition of those lavish musical numbers from Old Hollywood should provide the type of signature dry humor of The Coen Brothers.

We can’t wait to see what The Coens got up their sleeve this time. Maybe, they’ll run into Barton Fink?
