Polish, presence, craftsmanship, a great knack for when to really kick up his showmanship, and a keen sense of observation of the world and himself are what we’ve got to enjoy altogether in Ron Babcock for quite awhile here in LA.

It’s almost surprising that This Guy. is his first release as Ron has plenty under his belt with stand-up, but that just makes this album all the more satisfying. He put together an hour that flows together seamlessly and executed it with the precision of someone who is more likely on their third album.

So, you can get This Guy. on iTunes now as it was just released from Sure Thing Records today.

Also, we love all the fake covers that Ron made for his album that you can see at the bottom of his homepage.

Ron Babcock Has a Pretty Definitive Recipe and Way to Bake a Comedy Album

How exactly to make comedy has always been up for debate for hundreds of years.

While the art form as a whole will change and defy any sort of formula applied to it, comedian and chef(?) Ron Babcock does have a convenient way to make– or rather bake a comedy album.

In fact, he even has a video to show you just how to do it just like he did for his upcoming album This Guy coming out at the end of the month from Sure Thing Records.

You might know Brooke Van Poppelen from her charming co-hosting gig on Hack My Life or her appearances on @midnight. However, you should also be acquainted with her very own comedy as she is quite the stand-up.

By the time this debut album was recorded, Brooke has successfully planted herself as a comedian in all three of America’s big stand-up comedy hubs, LA, NYC, and Chicago. Her experience shows in her effortless stage presence and charisma in this debut album, Hard Feelings, making for a jolly ride through her set.

Also, it’s yet another solid release from Sure Thing Records out of Austin, TX.

Get Hard Feelings on Bandcamp, iTunes, and Amazon now.

Get Austin’s Eric Krug Debut Album “Double Speak” Off of Sure Thing Records

Austin based comedian Eric Krug has just released his first comedy album, Double Speak, off of Austin based comedy record label, Sure Thing Records.

Over a well-crafted hour, Krug does himself (and comedy out of ATX) proud. What we specifically dig about the album is how dark the album opens, his observations from being a veteran from this millennium, and Eric’s fascination with presidential history.

It’s a good reason for you to remember Krug’s name and pay attention to Austin’s comedy scene.

Get Double Speak off iTunes here.
