With October just a couple days aways, the holiday season is just around the corner (and we’re not just talking about Thanksgiving and Christmas). Several very celebratory holidays from around the world are in line to happen very soon including Diwali, a festival of lights celebrated throughout the MENASA part of the world.

As such, one shouldn’t miss out on Arti Gollapudi and Maya Deshmukh’s annual comedy celebration of Diwali at The Bell House in Brooklyn that will be giving its proceeds to the crucial relief needs in Pakistan via the Alkhidmat Foundation. For this year’s Diwali Party, Arti and Maya, so far, have Zubi Ahmed, Aparna Nancherla, and Pooja Reddy on the bill and plenty more TBA.

Diwali Party is set for Sun. Oct. 23rd at 7:30PM. Tickets are $15 in advance and you better go get tickets here.

Pick of the Day: Newcomers at the Bell House (in NYC) 11/17

We often get asked, “Who is next in comedy?” or “Who are the folks that are about to break; the comedians that we need to see before they blow up?”

Well, there always around and they’re always performing, but they are not often on the very same line-up.

That said, every once in awhile, such marvelous institutions like the Bell House in Brooklyn will gather together their favorites seasoned performers that deserve that shine of being on such a coveted stage. That night will be Newcomers Night at The Bell House on Wed. Nov. 17th at 8PM ET and have a plentiful spread of NYC’s best that are getting their official Bell House debut.
