Phoenix, AZ is getting a brand new comedy festival, The Bird City Comedy Festival, and in its inaugural year, it’s taking submissions for stand-up, sketch, improv, and more. The festival is taking place on the weekend of Apr. 8th going through to Apr. 10th.
Right now, the submission fee is $15 until the early deadline of Dec. 15th, then $25 for the final deadline on Jan. 15th, 2016.

We get to enjoy the comedic spoils of Josh Fadem and Johnny Pemberton all the time here in LA, but these “summer boys” are stopping through Tulsa/Norman, OK/Albuquerque, NM/Phoenix/Tucson for a tour that you should catch if you’re anywhere near those places from Jun. 19th through Jun. 24th.

The Tonight Show is going to take a week and come back to the West Coast next February. Jimmy Fallon, The Roots, and company will first tape an episode in Phoenix right after the Super Bowl on Feb. 1st and will then head to Universal Studios Hollywood from Feb. 2nd-5th for a week of shows here in LA.
Fun fact: While The Tonight Show hasn’t been in LA since Jimmy Fallon took over as the host earlier this year, The Tonight Show hasn’t been on the Universal Studios backlot since The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien.
Perhaps, there will be some fun crossover, rivalry bits between Conan and Fallon and Kimmel?
