Without giving too much away from magician/author/actor Penn Jillette’s Director’s Cut that’s screening at Slamdance, Jillette and director Adam Rifkin offer up an evolution of the found footage genre that shows how it can break free from its dependence on horror as well as offer some self-aware meta humor.

Watch the trailer for Director’s Cut (make sure you watch the whole thing) and you’ll see what we’re talking about.
