Though Sen. Al Franken has been a senator for quite some time now, it’s still kind of crazy to think of how he has made the transition from a comedian that was on SNL to being a veteran lawmaker.
Yet, he has done just that.

NYC’s Pretty Good Friends Goes on Tour with Eugene Mirman and Daniel Kitson
Eugene Mirman’s Pretty Good Friends is taking a nice little tour to the Minnesota, Chicago, Nashville, and more. Coming along with Eugene will be UK comedian Daniel Kitson. If you’re around these cities in May, you should probably go to these shows.

Tom Segura Recording His First Hour Special in Minnesota Next Month
The hysterical Tom Segura is recording his first hour long comedy special, which in our opinion is long overdue. Though he’s based in LA, the fine folks of Minneapolis, MN can catch the taping at the Goodale Theater on Nov. 9th 7PM and 9:30PM for free so long as you RSVP at the link above.
If you can somehow go to this, please do so and you wouldn’t be crazy to fly out for this if that’s something you like doing.
Wits, the true blue variety show taped, broadcast, etc. from the Fitzgerald Theater in Minnesota just announced the line-up for their series of shows coming this fall and it almost reads like a festival line-up.
In addition to have great musical acts such as Aimee Mann, Ted Leo, Yo La Tengo, and Busdriver, Paul F. Tompkins, Tim Heidecker, Dave Hill, Jim Gaffigan, Maria Bamford, David Cross, Ellie Kemper, and more are set to be part of various Wits episodes often in pretty great mini radioplays.
Luckily, they do tape much of the show and put it on YouTube like this clip of Maria Bamford and Bill Corbett & Kevin Murphy from Rifftrax spin on the Wizard of Oz.
