Get ready for what might be Australia’s next wonderfully weird export with Girl Asleep from director Rosemary Myer and writer Matthew Whittet.

It’s a coming-of-age comedy that revels being set in the 80s as much as it does making a dream world out of the mind of a teenage girl and it looks all sorts of charming for because of it.

See for yourself in the trailer, then look for it in theaters in the U.S. starting September 23rd.
