One of the very last shows that we watched before lockdown was a fantastic live edition of the splendid podcast Lady to Lady with venerable hosts Babs Gray, Brandie Posey, and Tess Barker. Per usual, it was a wild variety of some of LA’s best stand-up (Maria Bamford happened to be on that show), crazy games, live music, and their resident hunk, Ryan Nemeth.

Thankfully, on this side of the pandemic, Lady to Lady is returning to the stage, this time on the charming patio of Permanent Records Roadhouse, one of LA comedy’s newest, shiniest venues. Babs, Brandie, and Tess’ first time back since before lockdown is set for Sun. Sept. 5th and will go monthly on the first Sunday of the month with doors at 7PM PT. Tickets are $12 right now and we suggest that you snag them here.

Hopefully, this means they will bring back their adult baby contest in the not so distant future.

For the entirety of quarantine, LA comedy gem Barbara Gray has help run and host one of the most enduring, most put together, daily live-streamed comedy shows around, Comedy Quarantine. Barbara has an extensive chat with TCB founder Jake Kroeger about the intricacies of doing comedy on Instagram vs. other platforms and actually making more money than previously doing bar shows in LA. They also discuss the reopening of a handful comedy clubs across the country as well as an in-person open mic that defiantly wants to reopen despite not being allowed to. Also, time is taken to honor the memory of the late Richard Bain.

The unforgettable trio of Barbara Gray, Brandie Posey, and Tess Barker AKA Lady to Lady are going on a West Coast tour wonderfully called On The Pun starting tomorrow May 11th-May 23rd.

You’ve probably enjoyed their hijinks on their podcast that’s now part of the Maximum Fun network or, if you’ve been in LA, at their live shows where stuff like grown man baby pageants have been known to happen.
